Kills Well with Others
Kills Well with Others | Deanna Raybourn
Four women assassins, senior in statusand in agesharpen their knives for another bloody good adventure in this riotous follow-up to the New York Times bestselling sensation Killers of a Certain Age. After more than a year of laying low, Billie, Helen, Mary Alice, and Natalie are called back into action. They have enjoyed their time off, but the lack of excitement is starting to chafe: a professional killer can only take so many watercolor classes and yoga sessions without itching to strangle someone...literally. When they receive a call from the head of the elite assassin organization known as the Museum, they are ready tackle the greatest challenge of their careers. Someone on the inside has compiled a list of important kills committed by Museum agents, connected to a single, shadowy figure, an Eastern European gangster with an iron fist, some serious criminal ambition, and a tendency to kill first and ask questions later. This new nemesis is murdering agents who got in the way of their power hungry plans and the aging quartet of killers is next. Together the foursome embark on a wild ride across the globe on the double mission of rooting out the Museums mole and hunting down the gangster who seems to know their next move before they make it. Their enemy is unlike any theyve faced before, and it will take all their killer experience to get out of this mission alive.

"What do we know?"

"Lazarov isn't a joiner," I said. "...He's skipped all the entertainment apart from forty-five minutes at the casino last night where he won a few thousand bucks and mostly looked bored. He had a manicure, had his hair cut at the barbershop, and bought three books at the bookstore." She gave me a quizzical look and I knew what she was asking. "Two Agatha Christies and the latest Janice Hallett."

"He likes it twisty," she said.

This was just as fun as the first one in the series! I love reading the adventures of these four 60-something, semi-retired, female assassins and the people they love. Everyone needs a Taverner in their lives ❤️

Scochrane26 I loved this one, too, & agree about Taverner. 2mo

I didn‘t see much point to Natalie in Killers of a Certain Age, and I still don‘t see much point to her. It‘s as if Raybourn decided 4 would be better than 3, but she didn‘t know what to do with the 4th person. I still liked this book though. #audiowalk

JamieArc I heard someone mention that they wish this series had each book have a different character as the narrator and I agree. 3mo

Billie is being a little bit ridiculous. Her boyfriend is also a former assassin, but she wants to protect him like he‘s a delicate little flower. Long and quite warm #audiowalk today.

I loved Killers of a Certain Age, so I‘m happy to be listening to its sequel as my new #audiowalk book. So far, I‘m enjoying it. Today‘s walk was partly indoors and partly outdoors — the indoors is the big red clump on the map.

Now that I finally found Deanna Raybourn last year, I can‘t stop reading her books. I was excited to read this sequel to Killers of a Certain Age. The now 62 year-old female assassins have to get involved in another mission, with their support team assisting. Suspense, action, murder, disguises, complaints about age-related aches, one escape that is a little impossible, it‘s all great!

Another fun addition to the series as Billie, Helen, Mary Alice, & Natalie come out of retirement to figure who is targeting them. I do like the references to past history & art. I hope that there will be another installment

ncsufoxes Although I didn‘t get the whole reference to the teddy bear several times. I really thought it was going to play a more important part of the story. That was my only minor irritation. 3mo

46/100 While I don't think this was as good as the first novel, it was still a fun adventure, with enough mystery and hijinks to keep me involved and interested in the final outcome. I liked all the characters, especially Billy, so I hope we do see a third novel in the future. 4.25/5 #Read2025 #SeriesLove2025

Wow! Just wow! This series is so wonderful. Deanna Raybourn has done it again. These 4 unofficially “retired” assassins are unofficially “unretired” because once again someone wants them dead. And so they go on the hunt all over the globe to be sure they strike first. Unbeknownst to them this case has ties to a previously semi successful case. I love these fierce women of a certain age. They are kickass. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

While this was not as good as the first one it still was delightful fun. I wish we could get books from the other women‘s perspectives, especially Nat; to me Billie is not as interesting as some of the others.

The gangs back together for another clean up job that has them trotting all over the globe. Some fantastic flashbacks that give even more backstory for the 4 MCs. I wasn‘t laughing out loud with this one as much as I did with the original, but I still thoroughly enjoyed reading every one of their escapades. Seriously wouldn‘t mind reading a third installment.

Just as delightful as the first one. The dynamics between the ladies is very entertaining and I like that there is a mix of backstory to enhance the main timeline's events. I would absolutely follow any adventures these ladies go on.

Another assignment for our sexagenarian assassins! This one doesn‘t have quite the same fun and witty banter as the first book, but it‘s still a rollicking romp. And the women are just as badass as ever.

Finished today & it was a rollicking good time & maybe even more enjoyable than the first book! I love Billie, Natalie, Helen & Mary Alice & their brains, snarky wit & general badassery. Friendship & found family (be still my ❤️ Taverner & his cooking skills) make these books endearing. The mystery & thrills are fun & I loved the settings & food descriptions. I got a little worried at the ending that there would not be⬇️

DebinHawaii …more books in the Killers of a Certain Age series but it looks like the author still feels there are stories to tell & I will be enthusiastically along for the ride. I‘m returning my library e-book Lian a couple days early so the next reader can start enjoying. If you haven‘t read the first book, start here: 5mo

I have been in the worst reading slump, but this certainly pulled me out of it. My favorite author has done it again. A great story, and I‘m so glad she brought back these wonderful characters.

In addition to being in a reading slump, I‘ve been absent from Litsy for much too long. Thanks to @TheSpineView whose note woke me up to how many dear friends I have here and that I need to reconnect. So, I‘m back!

Another fun romp as the ladies get drawn into an off-book job for The Museum that takes them across much of Europe. The locations were fabulous and I enjoyed revisiting Billie, Helen, Mary Alice, and Natalie. Their friendship contains some strife and snark but they are always solidly there for each other. They work smoothly together and trust fully in each other. Also, I have a new #litcrush - Taverner is a prince among men.
