I've been at the top of the library wait list for this one for months! I don't know why it took so long to purchase and/or process their copies, but I was really excited to see that hold notification come through. #EssentialReading

I may never have read this, if not for @LitsyFeministBookClub choosing it and #hoopla having the #audiobook. But wow, was it eye-opening. I knew nothing about the trans experience before, and I learned so much through Mock's brutal honesty, sharing of statistics, and careful explanations. She does try too hard to wax poetic, and her audio narration has a weird cadence, but I would definitely call this memoir #essentialreading. #weneeddiversebooks
