'Salem's Lot | Stephen King
post image

#FavoriteSetting This was tough. I love stories that are set in small towns and Stephen King has a lot of books that take place in small town settings. I went with Salem's Lot because I love the imagery of a New England town with a creepy old house looking down upon it. #StephenKing17 @Josie @Gayan

Gayan Me too! The Marsden House is the creepiest. 8y

#stephenking17 Day 2 I'm going to go with the Florida setting too. I really enjoyed Duma Key and this novella, which were both set in Florida. #favoritesetting

Josie I've never heard of this one!! I need it! 8y
Bookzombie @Josie It was apparently in a magazine first then released in Just After Sunset. I listened to it on audio and it wasn't very long. 8y
MidnightBookGirl I forgot how much I loved the Florida setting in this and Duma Key! 8y

So many great ones to choose from, but I have to go with The Overlook as my #FavoriteSetting. So creepy! #StephenKing17

Josie This edition is the one I read for the first time! I have no idea what happened to it though 😭😭 8y
Little_Reader @Josie The first time I read this, I lived alone. It creeped me out so bad! 8y
Mariposa_Bookworm Of all the Stephen King novels I've read, I haven't read this one. It's next on my Challenge TBR. 8y

I'm joining the legions of fans who consider The Overlook Hotel their #FavoriteSetting in the Stephen King universe. I'm terrified of almost everything, so I'd never stay there overnight, but it would be awesome to just look around for a few hours. #StephenKing17

Josie I'm terrified of almost everything, too!!! Especially creepy hotels! ❤️ 8y
Gayan I'm not staying there, no way. 8y
Aurora0044 I would sooo stay there! I love stuff like that. I've always wanted to stay on the Queen Mary also. 8y

Duma Key: A Novel | Stephen King

This is randomly my #favoritesetting of a Stephen King novel. It takes place in Florida and I loved that such a horrifying story took place in such an ideal, vacation place. It ends up almost becoming a character in the story which I genuinely enjoyed! #stephenking17

Josie This was mine too!!!!! ❤️ 8y

Joyland | Stephen King

For my #favoritesetting in a Stephen King novel, I have to go with the setting for Joyland. I listened to the book on audio, and while listening the idea of working a summer job in an amusement park in a beach town just sounded very idyllic. Maybe it was the age of the main character as well. He was just college age. His age and the setting combined to remind me of the freedom of youth. #StephenKing17

Josie This is one I haven't read yet! But I do have it! 8y
Melkyl @Josie It's different, but I loved it. 8y
Gayan Josie, it's so good. 8y
Luv2readbookz Not your typical King book, but I really enjoyed this one too. 8y

#favoritesetting. It's a toss up between Derry and Castle Rock. I really couldn't decide. Although if it's a choice between Pennywise and Cujo, I think I'd rather take my chances with the dog....#StephenKing17

Gayan Good call on that. 😂 8y
Josie I would for sure take on Cujo over Pennywise 🤡 8y
CocoReads @Josie exactly. And Cujo couldn't help it--Pennywise (shudder), knows exactly what he's doing. 8y
