Just okay. The mystery was fine, but the characters were all 2-dimensional tropes. So much so, that I actually wondered if it was intentional, kind of like a spoof of a bad movie.
This was my #ThematicCozies choice for the August prompt #Travel .

Well today's a little more high octane than I would have cared for. My sister has been in the process of extracting herself from a toxic roommate. She had to call for a police escort to pick up her own cats because the roommate didn't hand them over. Hopefully we will never have to deal with them again.
A lighthearted holiday cozy mystery, with lovable, realistic characters. Kept me guessing until the end.

4th book read in December (GR closed but I‘m still reading this year and for me, those books counts). I don‘t know if I‘m going to continue this series. Does anyone read it? What do you think? Published in 1991, interesting mystery but you will find stereotyped women roles, work place sexual harassment, animal cruelty in one scene. Big concern is how she was treated as as a woman. I don‘t know if that issue is resolved in the other books. 2.5⭐️
Today‘s entry for the #festivephotochallenge.

I read this one 20 years ago and reread today to prepare for an upcoming cozy mystery book discussion. A fast read, and yet, I definitely did not enjoy this one as much as I did 20 years ago. In some ways, some of the storyline has not stood the rest of time (originally published 1991). There were some holes in the plot line that never quite fleshed out, and maybe because I know what happens later in the series ⬇️⬇️⬇️
A lot (too much) mundane mom details, cast of characters extreme week (were named and used as a list of possible suspects only), and she was basically extremely foolhardy and constantly putting her baby in danger. Also, she was super judgy and totally jumped to conclusions about who the murderer was. If I was them, I would not want to be friends with her anymore.
I really enjoyed this one! It‘s the first in the Caught Dead in Wyoming #series which follows EM Daniher, a newly divorced TV anchor who lost her sweet gig along with her husband. She is working off the rest of her contract with the network in nowhere Wyoming when a missing person case peaks her interest. This was well written, well read (I listened to the #audiobook), and I didn‘t figure out #whodunit before the end.
I started this #series on #audio recently. I‘ve been spending a lot of time taking care of my Mom and this has made the commute a lot better. Plus, maybe it‘ll help me not get so behind on my GR goal. Not a whole lot of time to read lately. #audiobook So far so good!
