I still need to do my February stats (digitally and in my #bulletjournal) but here are my #februaryfavorites for #heartsandhardcovers and #febinbooks18 . My favorites day binge was Pawn by Aimee Carter, favorite non-fiction was What Happened by Hillary Clinton, and my favorite random find at the bookstore was Dirty Pretty Things. #finishingfebruary

Great book of poems about going through really really hard things, having a very rough life, and coming out the other side by saving yourself. I like the happy ending of this almost #antifairytale #hardtimes #greatmessage #riotgrams

MissAimz_55 #quotsyfeb18 because really this is all about how to give yourself a voice and save yourself 7y

Such a powerful quote from a great award winning book that should be adapted into a movie. #quotsyfeb18 #readingresolutions #riotgrams #greatquotes

This was a very intriguing and unique behind the scenes look into a very tragic day in American history. I really enjoyed this book and recommend everyone read it. Also JFK's words ring true in today's society too! We must take action to have change.

Finally I completed #Iceland for #readaroundtheworld
& #LitWorld2018GB, on a quick trip to library in town, with view of lush greenery through glass walls.
The meandering tales surrounding the central characters (aptly described 'weird novel' on cover) were too disjointed for me. The bucolic setting was beautifully painted tho. #FinishingFebruary 4

Now, off to #Turkey with Vida & traipse thru other faraway #foreign places. #ReadingResolutions

GatheringBooks oooh. loving that heart of green!! 7y

Before reading this book I always thought of Amy Schumer as funny, strong, sassy, and a no-nonsense woman. I didn't realize her #activism and also a lot of the stuff she's gone through. This book had me laughing, nodding my head, frustrated, and feeling like I need to go out and do more especially when it comes to gender equality. I think everyone should read this book! #readingresolutions #finishingfebruary #quotsyfeb18 #power

tif I'm on the fence about Ms Schumer. She seems good and strong and says good things but she also seems to have a lot of internalised misogyny. I WANT to like her. There's just always a niggling something. 7y
tif I did enjoy this book though 😊 7y
MissAimz_55 @tif ya I get that but I think it cones from her being human and her childhood and especially her parents have caused her to have a lot of issues that sometimes causes some of what she says to rub me the wrong way. I definitely wouldn't put her up there with a lot of other women who have done more and live feminism day in and day out. It was more of a surprising thing to me . 7y
tif @MissAimz_55 for me it's that she kind of stood up for Louis CK. But I relate to her a lot. Her ability to not give a crap what other people think and to take up as much space as you want in the world is admirable. 7y
MissAimz_55 @tif ohhhh dang I missed that. Yes that is no good at all! Especially since she was sexually assaulted as well as physically assaulted. 7y

Struggled to complete this thin compilation of anecdotes. I was hoping to get a better glimpse of my island in the past but ended up being irritated by the former teacher's preachy condescending tone... Ugh!

I enjoyed this short story. It‘s about a woman‘s descent into madness. Short and easy reading. I hadn‘t heard of this prior to Serial Reader . #finishingfebruary. 3/20 from Serial Reader

PerksOfBeingABookworm This is one of my favorite short stories. It‘s so interesting to discuss, especially within the historical context of when it was written. The “wandering womb” era of medicine is truly baffling. 7y
Samplergal It has made me do a bit more research on my own. And to think I‘d never heard of it. A true feminist story. 7y
LiteraryAries I read this in college for my lit class. Really enjoyed it 7y
