Leave it to me to have an #unpopularopinion. I found this just okay and not a series I want to continue. The author took ages to set his scene and build his characters. Much of the first half felt like unnecessary filler. I probably would have bailed on the print version, but the audio narrator wasn‘t terrible. At least it‘s one more off of #MountTBR and is #Thailand for #ReadingAsia2021

Next up for #BookFitnessChallenge Audiobooks. 💕

I‘ve seen this book at Chapters, and I absolutely adore the cover. Never heard of the author, but I‘m sure it‘ll be enjoyable. Definitely another case of #CoversThatPullYouIn

It took me a little be to get into this book - it‘s not my usual fare. But I did enjoy it and I liked the solution of the mystery.

Still struggling a bit With pronouncing all the Thai words and names, but I‘m working on it. The internet can be a very helpful, wonderful thing!

Doing some #audiocooking on this beautiful Saturday! Hit a farmer‘s market kind of thing today (got all the produce at top right for $10!!) and am cooking up a storm. I‘ve roasted a bunch of stuff and made a few different salsas. My favorite is the mango-lime pico de gallo at bottom left. And my husband is SUPER excited about all the pickles. I‘ve never made pickles before, so 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼.

You know how a book calls out to you from a shelf... This is one such title that grabbed my attention from a library display. It reminded me of Tarquin Hall's Vish Puri series.

Reading beginning chapters, I can only get more excited!! Ladarat Patalung reminds me of Mma Ramotswe, tho former is slightly comical in her reflection.
There's a Clovis Anderson equivalent & as I wondered about Makutsi's counterpart, Sisithorn appears!! #ExcitedBookworm

Anyone read any of these?

There wasn‘t anything too complex to parse through in this sweet little procedural mystery. Likable protagonist, vivid setting. There‘s something that still feels a little icky about a white, American man writing about Asian female passivity culture but you can‘t win ‘em all. 3.5/5

Has anyone read this, yet? There are no reviews on Amazon or Barnes & Noble, but I need to return a book to my local B&N and wanted to exchange it for something a little more diverse than my normal US/UK crime novels. I found this in a search and my local B&N has it in stock. Any input (or other international crime fiction recommendations) would be greatly appreciated!
