This witchy retelling of Anne of Green Gables is utterly charming and stars Grace, an orphan who must complete a grimoire full of spells to become the witch of the wood‘s apprentice…or lose her magic. I loved the culturally diverse cast of characters, the magical twists on the classic story, and that more readers will encounter one of my favorite characters in literature! Highly recommended for fans of Netflix‘s Anne with an E, of course!
This is a beautiful book filled with gorgeous pictures of Prince Edward Island, many of them taken by LMM herself. I don‘t think there is anyone who is better at describing scenery than LMM and she has such an ability to transport you to another time. Highly recommended for fans of Anne, LMM or even if you just love flowers. 5⭐️

Today‘s BN #bookhaul, courtesy of a gift card from my dad. I don‘t think I‘ve ever spent a gift card faster! The Lore Olympus are the BN exclusive editions and I hope to get volumes one and two tomorrow when we go to Dallas and visit a different store. Goddess Girls is the rest of kiddo‘s Christmas books that arrived late.
“Our library isn‘t very expensive. But every book in it is a friend.” I absolutely loved seeing Anne become a wife and mother in this book. The first half of this book made my heart sore and sometimes cry. I will admit, about half way through the story I feel like Anne became an observer as apposed to the main character. It‘s still a great book though and I dearly love relate to a the newly wed wife and the dreams of her home.
I encourage every lover of Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery to read this book.
This wasn't bad. It didn't feel much like a retelling of Anne of Green Gables though, and the similarities felt more like a distraction than an integral part of the plot. I liked Grace and Sareena. I think I would like to try another of Fawcett's books, one that isn't a retelling.
