3-23-25: My 20th finished book of 2025! 1950. Ruby, a high school sophomore, is in a program in Philadelphia that could garner her a 4 year scholarship to college. Eleanor, attending Howard University, is studying to be an archivist. Both fall in love with men they probably shouldn‘t. Their paths will cross in ways they can‘t imagine. The time period is fraught with racism and classism but these women try their best to prevail. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️📖#️⃣2️⃣0️⃣
I‘m posting one book a day from my massive collection. No description, no reason for why I want to read it.

I have gone to several signings. The last one I attended was with my best reading friend when we visited Ruta Sepetys in Greensboro. We walked into the store with her. It was such an awesome experience. #FunDaySunday @BookmarkTavern
Hold on, I'm still crying. I absolutely loved this book. I learned a lot about WW2, but I also got this amazing, heart-wrenching, and beautifully written story. Kristin Hannah never misses. I could read her talking about paint drying, and she could figure out how to make me think it was beautiful. This book shows the more unknown side of the war and the crucial part women played. I cannot wait to pick up more from her after I recover 5/5
Sitting out on the deck (spring is here!) and getting back to this one that I set aside to focus on other must reads.
I read this book many years ago, and felt compelled to re-read it. I'm happy to say I loved it just as much as I did back then. A beautiful and enduring story, worthy of reading over and over. 💜
