Well, I actually want to read less books. That have been a goal for a couple of years. It‘s harder than it looks, with all the new books to buy and books due at the library with long waiting lists

But a new year also marks new beginnings so I‘m starting several new yearlong reads where a read a new entry every day. I also want to read A Jane Austen Year every month and Jane Austen‘s Bookshelf a chapter a month and read from that author.

AnneCecilie I used to think that I didn‘t read any amazing books until book prize season started in March, so last year I started the year by reading books by my favorite authors. And since it was a success last year, I decided to do the same this year. Tagged is one I‘ve read this year (edited) 47m
AnneCecilie And in between I will read books before they‘re due at the library. #ihavequestions @RaeLovesToRead (edited) 46m

I‘m all over the place: finishing Christmas romances, audiobooks that are waiting for me, but open to impulse as well.
Suiting me will be any TBR audio, Kindle, physical book, or anything I feel I can‘t live without reading now!

RaeLovesToRead Nice! 😊 I think I'm all Christmassed out after reading so many festive mysteries! 😅🎄🎅 8h

My vibe this month is giving myself space to figure out what my vibe is, because I've been too overloaded. New books by favorite authors seems to be the way to go.

#IHaveQuestions

RaeLovesToRead Yeah, you know you're in good hands with a fave author! I'm thinking of re-reading some Stuart Turton because he is my favourite! 16h
CatLass007 There are several authors I consider “must read” but I don‘t think I have one specific author who is my “favorite.” I‘ve got some books that are part of a series, some that are for a couple of Zoom book clubs to which I belong (one of which is serendipitously by one of my “must read” authors), some are for buddy reads. I don‘t know if I have an overall vibe other than enjoy what I‘m reading or bail. 16h

I joined a fourth book club! 🤦🏻‍♀️

My January vibe feels like being constantly behind on my homework! So far I‘m not managing my reading time as well as I could.

Tagged book is for the book club that meets on Wednesday. Will I read it or not?

I love all my book clubs, but sometimes I just want to read what I want to read.

#ihavequestions

Amiable I never realized how much of a contrarian I was until I tried out a few book clubs. Any time I joined I immediately didn‘t want to read whatever the book was. 😖 17h
RaeLovesToRead 4 is a lot of book clubs! I'm the same with joining reading challenges! 17h
CatLass007 I belong to four book Zoom book clubs that meet monthly. I chose not to read one and I chose to bail on another. I don‘t force myself to read something I‘m not into. I try to do some of the Litsy buddy reads and challenges, but, again I‘m not going to force things. I already have finished nine books this month, many of which I just read because I wanted to. One was a book of short stories I‘ve been reading since July. I‘m rereading one (cont)⬇️ 16h
CatLass007 book that I just read last year but about which I couldn‘t remember any of the details and the second book of the duology just was released. I remember enjoying it.🤷‍♀️ Most of the time I remember enough details that I don‘t have to do something so nutty. I remembered enough details of Mercy Thompson‘s world but not so many that I didn‘t enjoy my reread last year. And I think I‘ve gotten off track. 16h

My reading vibe this January seems to be audiobooking urban fantasy and fairytale retellings whilst playing mindless games on my phone. I need to get my groove back, because I'm currently trying to read Flashlight (from last year's Booker) and it feels like it's 4000 pages long instead of 400.

RaeLovesToRead Nice! 🥰 I actually found Flashlight weirdly readable given how dense it is! I've got Sonia and Sunny on the go and finding it more difficult to pick up. I think that's because I'm not in a literary mood right now. 1d
Leniverse @RaeLovesToRead Yea, I think that's my issue now too. I should put Flashlight away and try it again later. But on the other hand it has a wild amount of holds at the library and I don't think I want to wait another six months to continue it 😂 So I'm just gonna power through. 1d

I missed #ihavequestions, @RaeLovesToRead.

My vibe? You know me, pure chaos. 😁

The same eclectic mix as always. From romantasy to thriller to fantasy to historical romance to sci-fi. Or let's be honest it's more like three to seven books parallel to each other.

I've tagged one of my current reads

Ruthiella Same! My vibe doesn‘t change much. 😅 1d
RaeLovesToRead I can never tell whether you'll love or hate a book, Jules!!!! 😅 1d

Just like I don‘t read seasonally, I don‘t think I have a reading vibe? 😂

Like the vibe is always the same song on repeat, “read as many books as possible AND keep up with new publishing, but don‘t forget the classics AND read my own damn books”.

I‘m a boring person. 😆

Amiable I‘m feeling the same vibe! “Read what I want, when I want.” 😄 1d
RaeLovesToRead I go through phases of wanting different things. Reading something different has been weirdly refreshing! 🥰 1d
sarahbarnes This is totally me! “Somehow find time to read all the new books from the library and all the books I own that I still haven‘t read” 😆 23h
BarbaraBB I am just as boring as you 💕 (edited) 21h
Reggie Lololol I want to be boring, too! 15h

It's been a while, but #ihavequestions again!

What are you really in the mood for this January?

And what books are on your radar to suit the mood? 👀

For me, I've felt like a change so I'm reading some romance (very unlike me!) and I'm after some easy, entertaining reads that make me feel like I'm ticking stuff off my TBR.

What about you?

Repost and tag me! 💕💕

#ihavequestions @RaeLovesToRead

💐Spring:

☀️Summer: The House Across the Lake by Riley Sager

🍁Fall: Cackle by Rachel Harrison

❄️Winter: What Happens at Christmas by Victoria Alexander

This was way harder than I thought it would be! It was so hard to narrow it down to just one per season! 😂
