Rebecca the #booksnake is sporting 10 stripes now (I actually frogged her and started her body over and am much happier). This is everything I read in January.

maich I love it😍 1w
TheAromaofBooks Sooo adorable!! So are you changing colors based on genre, or based on how much you liked the book, or some other parameter? 1w
MaleficentBookDragon @TheAromaofBooks I‘m changing colors by genre. I have a key that I made to go by. This photo is not great color-wise because thrillers are actually a dark teal while mysteries are a forest green. I do have a fun sparkly yarn that I‘ll add to any 5 ⭐️ books, but I haven‘t read any yet this year. 1w
Meshell1313 Soo cool! Love it! 😍 1w
Zuhkeeyah I found a crochet pattern (because I don't know how to knit) and I plan to make a book snake as well! Rebecca has inspired me. 1w
TheAromaofBooks SO fun!!! 1w
janeycanuck So fun! I started singing “Rebecca the book snake has ten stripes, Rebecca the book snake has ten stripes, Rebecca the book snake has ten stripes so go Rebecca go!” to the tune of Alice the Camel. I need less sugar, I think 1w
MaleficentBookDragon @janeycanuck 😹😹😹 🐍 That is fantastic! And now in my head. 🤪 1w
janeycanuck @MaleficentBookDragon I am here to serve 🤪🤪🤪 1w

Being an introvert myself, I found some encouraging conclusions in this book.

“Introversion- along with its cousins sensitivity, seriousness, and shyness- is now a second-class personality trait, somewhere between a disappointment and a pathology. Introverts living in the Extrovert Ideal are like women in a man's world, discounted because of a trait that goes to the core of who they are."

Was reading this book on my phone. It was slow but had a very interesting premise. However Apple Books decided to remove my download multiple times and I kept losing my page so I‘ve currently given up for now!

Suet624 @DogMomIrene oh, you‘re really sweet. Back home and all is well. 3mo
kspenmoll Glad to hear you survived Sue! Sometimes it takes too much energy to chat, especially with a large group…. (edited) 3mo
Suet624 @kspenmoll I love a conversation with one or two people at a time. Once I quit drinking it became especially difficult to be in a large group. (edited) 3mo

“One of the risks of being quiet is that the other people can fill your silence with their own interpretation: You‘re bored. You‘re depressed. You‘re shy. You‘re stuck up. You‘re judgmental. When others can‘t read us, they write their own story—not always one we choose or that‘s true to who we are.”

One of my closest friends has been begging me to read this book for a long while, and now I‘m finally doing it. I‘m only a couple chapters in, but man… this book is for everyone. Honestly I think this is a good book for anyone to read, regardless of their opinions on Christianity, because it offers a fresh and ACCURATE truth, which is that Christians, we struggle so much… this book is so relatable and just… I feel right at home reading this 😭💯

I loved reading the fascinating names for groups of animals like a fever of sting rays. This is a great introduction about animals that don't belong to a group by nature. The artwork is bright and fun.

1) Quiet by Susan Cain. Life-changing book for me.
2) Hamilton by Ron Chernow
3) Killers of The Flower Moon by David Grann

Hard to limit to 3! 😄
