August's selections was this very entertaining, supernatural take on Sherlock Holmes & Doctor Watson. I hope the author plans future adventures for the duo.

A great cozy mystery. Bradley Harper uses two real people, Arthur Conan Doyle and Margaret Harkness, in a fictional setting to track down Jack the Ripper. Good characterization, steady pace.

This book is a stand alone novel as it ends with the death of Harkness. I would have liked another story involving the pairing of these two protagonists. Ah, well.

4 stars 🌟

Read it for the book club and wasn‘t overly impressed. But I‘m ready to forgive a lot for a story about books or literary characters #bookclub

This is such a fascinating read. It was the perfect fall read. It had me on the edge of my seat. I can‘t wait to read the rest of the series. It‘s going to be so great. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a perfect gothic story for the October season. It weaves together elements of Jack the Ripper, Mary Reilly (movie), Jane Eyre, and Frankenstein. It was such a good story; I flew through the whole book in one day. I wished it was longer.

This was such a fun Halloween book! Each chapter is a day in October with a cast representing tropes in Victorian gothic lit. The MC is a dog named Snuff who is prepping for The Game to be played by his master Jack (the Ripper) on Halloween night. I loved the twists and figuring out The Game as October progressed. I wish there had been a just little more action but I can see myself reading this every spooky season. I‘m obsessed with this cover 🧡

Bookwomble I love Roger Zelazny and didn't know about this book! One for me to hunt down 😁 3mo

This is my favorite Fall book. It has everything: humor, some chills, and a possible Apocalypse!

75/100 I'm not a devoted Holmesian, but I thought this was a delightfully supernatural take on the Holmes & Watson stories. I liked Dr Doyle, a more intelligent and far less bumbling version of Watson, and I have to admit their secret caught me totally by surprise. Crow, the stand for Holmes, was witty and innocent, not nearly as caustic as Holmes could be at times. I hope the author plans a sequel, since the ending ⬇️

RamsFan1963 left things open for more adventures of Doyle & Crow. I would gladly read a series of their stories. 5 🌟 read #Read2025 4mo
