What did I just read? This wasn‘t for me - I‘m trying to read more Classics this year and this was to be a prequel to Jane Eyre. Here‘s to hoping my reading experience is vastly different for Jane Eyre than it was for Wide Sargasso Sea.

lil1inblue It's not your typical prequel. I would classify it as a retelling, myself. I think it is better appreciated after you read Jane Eyre. 2w

Thank you @BookwormAHN for books!! I am excited to start on the a new adventure. The 3D card was super cute. Chloe Okoye freaked out the first time hearing it, but 2 sniffs later she was fine. Meh, it was an okay novel but nothing great. I‘ve read other books that feel similar and this one never felt particularly suspenseful or tense. 🤷🏻‍♀️

so-so

I was excited for this one after loving My Lady Jane so much. Unfortunately to me it wasn't nearly as good as the first. The audiobook performance was still good and I think that's why I'm giving it 3 stars. If I had been just reading the physical book honestly I think I would have added it to my DNF list. Maybe just not a fan of Jane Eyre times in history. I like that they are all standalones though.
