I thought this book sounded so interesting. The way Jason ultimately becomes "the last victim" of John Wayne Gacy, Dahmer, Ramirez, etc. is pretty interesting. But the editing is poor. The writing is simplistic. I did not care for the author in the least. He's arrogant, homophobic, & kind of a douchebag. The scene he describes at Menard CC being left alone in Gacy's cell... First he confuses a legal visit booth & a cell. Second, I work for IDOC?

FelinesAndFelonies & I can assure you that there is absolutely no way this happened. Not the way he described it, anyhow. And he had to have visited more than once because visitors, unless they're attorneys are not permitted to visit more than one inmate a day. He also left out that Koko's brother was also on death row for the same crimes. For someone who was so close to these guys, he didn't know a whole lot about the process or the inmates. Idk. 1y
FelinesAndFelonies This one just didn't work for me. Another loser who needed to associate with killers to feel relevant. 👎🏽 1y

Really good. Mostly focused on Gacy, but got to hear interesting things about Manson, Ramirez and Dahmer too.

Before the Netflix special and this book, I didn‘t know much about JWG. I knew his moniker, Killer Clown, and the horror story that was his crawl space, which was enough for me (terrified of clowns because of ⬆️). Getting the perspective from the lawyer not only provided great detail into the man, the crimes, but also the law and procedure behind catching, and prosecution. A great read.

I was thoroughly enjoying the narrator from the very beginning. His voice acting is phenomenal, but when we reach the part where Gacey unloads on his lawyer? This guy is giving a star quality read. Shout out to him! #currentlylistening

While my tangible reads are light, my audiobooks are quite dark. #currentlylistening

EvieBee Oooh. I just picked this up from the library because I was craving a little dark. 2y
StellaDz @EvieBee Oh I didn‘t know there was that one as well! The perspective from his lawyer is amazing. I can‘t even imagine. 2y

Everything that can be said about Gacy‘s story has been said umpteen times, but it was interesting to hear it from the perspective of his lawyer, Sam Amirante. However, I couldn‘t decide if I really liked or really detested the character he portrays himself as, or his addition to Gacy‘s story. There were points where he went into minutiae and repetition, which were a bit annoying when listened to as an audiobook. I enjoyed it on the whole, though.

Connster Bath bomb is Lush‘s Snow Fairy. Smells sickly sweet but I kinda like it. 3y

Did I post this already? I don't think I did 🤦‍♀️

Anyway....Gacy has always been a killer that I've wanted to find out more about so I was excited to pick this up. I like that it covers what leads to the arrest, investigation, trial, sentencing and updates later on. I do think that this went on a bit longer than needed and a LOT of focus was on Gacy's sexual preferences and previous charges when I didn't think it needed to be.

LeahBergen I just watched a documentary interview with his sister. 😬 4y

FantasyChick @LeahBergen That is something I would be interested in seeing. I'm always curious how the family has coped with these things 4y

Well, I had my lazy time. Watched a movie, finished a book, now I guess it's time to adult and play every mother's favourite game.....What's That Smell? 😂😂

That's right, if you're not jealous....you should be!

At least my #audiobook of choice will make it a bit more interesting

Ok, I think I've finally come up with a plan!

Here's my #bookspinbingo list and the books I'll be picking from for #screamathon and #Scarathlon2020 🎃🎃

As usual, I'm leaving 5 spaces open for freebies over the month but I think I'm happy with the list.

Bring on October 😈
