A beautiful tribute to slow readers with big imaginations. A big hug to my inner child who was, and despite the amount I read, still is a slow reader. This is a must book for every elementary classroom!

I came across this cute, encouraging little book today when I was dropping off some stacks to a local little free library. It‘s about a little girl who‘s struggling with reading and isn‘t sure she likes it. She meets an encouraging librarian who directs her to read to a dog…and the child begins to blossom. Shown: an AI image of reading time with my favorite breed!
Madeline reads to Bonnie every Saturday at the library! 😊😃😍 #CharactersReading
He worked so hard to get to this point and we are beyond proud. He has read two Narwhal and Jelly as well as most of the first The Bad Guys: Episode 1 in the last few days. He even wanted to sit in my reading chair since he was reading “real“ books on his own 😆....this is a proud mama moment!!

Picture books (I've missed thee!) about books create a certain kind of joy. That being said, Please Don't Read This Book is more a list of activities, would be best enjoyed by a guardian instructing a small child on what 'not' to do. 😉 Book's Big Adventure is sentimental with resources in the back for new homes for books, always a good. Hug This Book is my fave, art feels 60s, even if publication was 2016. Colour palette is vivid and cheerful.
Nominated for the 2024 #WCCPBA, A Walk in the Words carries an important message. I'm always open with my students about my learning disability and how it's not okay to shame people who need more time. The illustrations support the message in this story so well, but of course, I'm partial to Godzilla.
Hudson struggles to read while his peers seem to have no trouble. #CharactersReading
This would be a good book for kids who are slow reading or who may have a reading learning disability to help them feel less alone and foster some hope.
