#CharacterCharm Day 29: I have been reading more of the works of #Poet Mary Oliver now that I have quit social media (Facebook, X, Instagram) over the past months. Poetry seems infinitely better for the soul.
I love to listen to intelligent people muse on the beginnings of life. This one is from a physicist‘s perspective and my mind is altered each time I listen to these types of audiobooks. Do I understand it all? Oh, my no! But it doesn‘t dampen my enthusiasm. And I love to learn about the processes scientists/biologists/etc undertake in this field of study.
Dare I say that parts of this memoir were a little…boring? I was expecting something a little different from a final ‘lecture‘, but I‘ll read just about anything from someone who is dying, because I think there‘s a unique perspective and story for each individual experience. (Therefore, I don‘t regret reading it). I‘ve known two other people with this diagnosis and each life was very different. In reading this, I honor their memory.
“Nourish the tree that lives in you.”

#JulyJazz Day 5: This is a gorgeously-illustrated title that demonstrates our one-ness with everything around us: from the tree to its fruits, from the wind to the bees, from the roots to the sky. It is an ode to nature, and the fact that we are #indivisible from it. It is told in such a lyrical way and the art is absolutely gorgeous.
3✨ I‘m honestly not sure when I got this book, but I‘ve had it for a long while. I‘m glad I finally picked it up, and found out it was about a girls life. In the short story we grow up with our MC through the good the bad, and the love of small town life. I really liked her, and her family. What I didn‘t like was the writing bounced around within the characters head spontaneously. While it followed a natural timeline it moved around in chapters.
Inspiring book about aspects of life that involve deep reflection!
