Wife/mother disappears, did her lawyer husband kill her? Written from various points of view. The children all have different beliefs and reactions to this tragedy. Fairly good read. I give it 4/5

I enjoyed this— it reminded me of Rutherford‘s novelized histories but more interesting, as Catherine Moreland from Northanger Abbey says, without “…the quarrels of popes and kings…the men all so good for nothing and hardly any women at all…” rather, there are a lot of very strong women & the stories focus on local history & the way our stories become myths

Happy reading everyone!!
This was my first Kristan Higgins‘ novel and I loved it! It‘s got just about everything I‘m looking for in a contemporary story: laughs, heart, compelling and complicated characters, and just enough sadness to make me really feel for them. There‘s even a dog and a bookstore! I cannot wait to read more from this author…I just wish I hadn‘t waited so long! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I don‘t agree with his political views but he certainly makes reading history entertaining. What I thought was just going to be a discussion about the Salem Witch Trials turned into one of religious freedoms and the American Revolution. Who knew we had a problem with the separation of church and state from the beginning!
