For #travelthroughbooks I selected this read set in #tokyo #japan. This was for me a fun and fast read and the entire time I kind of got the “Princess Diaries”vibe. Izumi and her friends are a hoot and the lost princess trope is done well and I‘m looking forward to the sequel. #mayreading #springread

For #travelthroughbooks I selected a book set in #Denmark. While the author set a perfect tone with bringing Copenhagen to life the actual story was just an average read. A pleasant read but not one that sticks with you. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ read. #mayreading #springread

For my #readhawaii challenge I started with this title. I‘m a sucker for any sweeping saga type reads. This one defies description. So very very good. This book totals over 1,000 pages so be prepared for a lengthy read. But it‘s well worth the time and effort. Historic fiction at its best. #readhawaii #mayreading

Bklover I loved this book although I read it so long ago I don‘t remember much except that I loved it! May have to reread this one 2y
KristiAhlers @Bklover it was so good. My dad suggested it. He‘s a big fan of this author. 2y

I found this book to be not only pretty with illustrations and vintage photos but also incredibly interesting. That is you like reading about travel and various ways to journey around this amazing planet. You‘ll find it in the art/coffee table section of your bookstore. I now have my copy out on display for others to enjoy. #travelthroughbooks #mayreading

Y‘all I‘ve had a love hate relationship with these authors. I wanted to like their books as they always sounded fun but in the end never connected with their characters. This time I was there for this entire friends to lovers romance. Macy and Elliot grabbed me from page one. Highly recommend this one for a light fun read! #romantsy #mayreading.

melzen So you would recommend it or? 2y
KristiAhlers @melmes yes! Which is saying a lot as I‘ve passed on some of their other books. There was just something about this second chance story I fell in love with! 2y
melzen Sounds great! I have put it into my tbr 2y

For #traveltheunitedstates I‘ve picked this YA whodunnit set in #california. This story was really engaging with an Agatha Christie theme. The pacing at first was a little slow but it did find its groove and turned into a decent read #maybookclubs #mayreading #springread

Oh how I enjoyed this one. From prologue to ending. The thing that makes this such a wonderful read are the characters! The writing is sweet and the author brought Scotland to life. I‘ve actually visited Scotland several times when I lived in England and this made me homesick for the brogue and the food! #travelthroughbooks #scotland #mayreading

I traveled to Finland for this amazing read. Set during WWII it takes place during the Winter War when Russia invaded Finland. This is both a romance (sweet) and historical fiction. Prepare yourself and maybe (totally do) have Kleenex handy. #travelthroughbooks #Finland #sisu #mayreading

In this book I visited the country of Chili. This story is told by 10 different women. It was an interesting read as each story was told by each individual woman as they experienced life. Add the cultural differences and it‘s a truly absorbing read. #travelthroughbooks #mayreading #chili

I run our local B&N book club and when I was looking at the new releases for this month I was so hoping this would be our pick. Well it was!!! Y‘all drop what you‘re reading and pick up this one up! Even though it‘s title is Elektra it also focuses on Clytemnestra and Cassandra. If you‘re not familiar with Greek mythology a quick Google search will catch you up ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ current favorite book of the year! #mayreading

5feet.of.fury I‘m picking this up tomorrow, and I cannot WAIT, everything I‘ve heard is so good 3y
KristiAhlers @5feet.of.fury I‘m so excited for you! Seriously it‘s so very good. 3y
