pickI started this book immediately after finishing the show Dept Q - which had me rapt. It was maybe too soon to visit the same storyline again but I really enjoyed the book too. So grim.
pickThis was such a fantastic book and I had no idea it was part of a series until now.
This had some good twists and turns and I loved the setup of the book between two perspectives as well as some letters through out that relied on its current arc and no so much on the series which was great for me as a first time reader.

pickI finished it on the banks of the Kern River after coming through the Sequoia Monument and National Forest. I didn‘t like it as much as The Boy in a Suitcase, which was such a twisty ride. But I loved the window into Roma culture in Hungary, the discrimination and challenges they have long faced. And the window into the immigrant backlash in Scandinavia. Will read the whole series!

I‘m on the couch flipping between an ARC, Kamala‘s book, and my book club book. I took tomorrow off to do a college tour with my son so I‘m feeling pretty relaxed.
