My #currentread! My friend has been dying for me to finish the #WickedLovely series since I started it a few years ago and loaned me the last two books to read.
One thing I'll always respect about #MelissaMarr is how she unapologetically writes about things that interest her! We'll see how that goes in this one~

12 hours into the school term this bub started projectile voming down his mummy‘s back (2am hair and duvet washing ensued) so instead of rushing around doing my huge list of jobs whilst he is at preschool today we will be cuddling on the sofa and I might even get some reading done whilst he dozes. Sometimes life sends you what you need. Feeling grateful it has happened now that big bro is back at school (and hoping he isn‘t next!)

laurieluna Awww bless him. Sending love his way! Hope he feels better very soon! X 6y

I was thinking about buying another book from Thrift Books but then I remembered the horrible stickers they slap right on the spine, and which cannot be removed without damaging the book!, and I'm not sure I want to do that again. 😦😬😭

TheBookgeekFrau Doncha just hate that!! A hairdryer on high heat setting can help loosen the glue. A razor blade that is slightly dull will pry it up without cutting into the book itself. Of course there is always wine or xanex to calm our book obsessive ways, but they don‘t help as much 😂 7y
bookandbedandtea @C.Perone I'm definitely going to try the hairdryer. Thanks for the ideas! 7y

While an enjoyable read with an interesting premise, it fell a bit short of the mark for me. There was a lot of potential, but too much time was spent on the build up and scene setting. Not enough time was left to really explore the world Marr created.

Interesting characters and premise (#urbanfantasy for adults and not YA), with an almost cozy approach. This series feels like it'll have a slow burn and be more exciting in later books, but this one wanted to keep the mystery, and it interfered with world building. Reminded me a bit of Graywalker.

...Have some pomegranate, won't you? Persephone only had 3.
