I was thinking about buying another book from Thrift Books but then I remembered the horrible stickers they slap right on the spine, and which cannot be removed without damaging the book!, and I'm not sure I want to do that again. 😦😬😭

While an enjoyable read with an interesting premise, it fell a bit short of the mark for me. There was a lot of potential, but too much time was spent on the build up and scene setting. Not enough time was left to really explore the world Marr created.

Interesting characters and premise (#urbanfantasy for adults and not YA), with an almost cozy approach. This series feels like it'll have a slow burn and be more exciting in later books, but this one wanted to keep the mystery, and it interfered with world building. Reminded me a bit of Graywalker.

I only just started this potential #scaretober #AllHallowsRead, and I want it to explain the hook already! Everyone in it is being very mysterious. I suppose my reading over breakfast will have to work for a belated #booktober #readingsnacks, since coffee is an acceptable reading accompaniment anytime. I finished my egg before I thought about photographing it, though! #coldcoffeeandakindle

I wanted to like this book a lot more than I actually did... It's not terrible, just sort of meh. Interesting idea for a story, but it fell kind of flat for me. I'm not entirely sure how kitten feels about it yet. 😸 ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I almost made it to #24in48...but I'm so tired! Time for sleep, but I am loving this book. 👍

paranormal zombie Romance-ish book. Though they never call these walking, biting, dead actually zombies, and the romance is more of a "I can't" "I shouldn't" "I could never..." Bit of tiresome nonsense. The land of the dead was ?? but overall incredibly meh. 2.5/⭐️ for overly whiney adults...

It's a really interesting story if you enjoy fantasy.
