Where did this come from?! My wife and I still watch SNL every week. It is not great, but often good enough to keep watching, except the music acts are often so disappointing. But, damn, Raye was stellar! She is new to me. Her album seems less lounge jazz, more pop, but she has a great voice and I'm interested to she what she does with this exposure.

vivastory I wasn't familiar with her either, but I did like the song you linked to 3w
kelli7990 I only watch SNL for the musical guests. I‘m not familiar with this artist. 3w

Pickpick

Bit of a meander through times spent with the album. More impressionistic than fact based, which was a pleasant surprise. The writing actually mimics the source material of Wowee Zowee in its free form feel and at times stream of consciousness construction. Good for fans, not so for the novice.

All Gates Open: The Story of Can | Rob Young, Irmin Schmidt

#TuesdayTunes @TieDyeDude

Was sad to hear of Damo Suzuki's passing on February 9. He was one of the vocalists for Can, and I've been listening to the Ege Bamyasi album again in particular. The track Vitamin C still rocks so hard and Sing Swan Song is so lovely. Love me some Krautrock 💚 You can hear the influence of this on bands like Pavement, Sonic Youth.

Bookwomble Sorry to hear about the passing of one of the band. I've only got the odd track by Can on compilation albums, and have long been meaning to rectify the gap. I also love Krautrock, though mainly represented in my music collection by Neu! 2mo
BarbaraBB Never heard of this band. But I am now listening to the album! 2mo
The_Book_Ninja It‘s the drums and bass on Vitamin C for me 2mo

TieDyeDude Thanks for the recommendation. I had not heard of them before, but Vitamin C is good! 2mo
merelybookish New to me! 2mo
batsy @Bookwomble Neu is fantastic, too. I loved what little I've listened to—was more familiar with Kraftwerk. I'm looking forward to giving their albums a listen now 😊 2mo
batsy @The_Book_Ninja @TieDyeDude It's just the epitome of cool, that song 😁 2mo
vivastory Not familiar with this band but you 100% sold me with your comparison to two of my fave bands of all-time. Def checking out 2mo
Suet624 I‘m so sorry. I‘m not aware of this group but will have to check them out. 2mo

I've been listening to Maggie Rogers's new single "Don't Forget Me." I loved her 2019 album Heard it in a Past Life. Didn't love her 2022 album Surender.
But based on this single, feeling hopeful for the one out in April! ?

BarbaraBB A new to me artist! Cool! 2mo
sarahbarnes Agree with all of these sentiments! 😃Her new song is great. 2mo

Billypar I still have to try the new single but agreed on her past albums. For me, it's not that 2022's was bad so much as Heard It in a Past Life is one of my favorite albums of the past 5 years or so. 2mo
batsy What @BarbaraBB said. I'm keeping a list of artists to discover thanks to this tag 🙂 2mo
TieDyeDude Aww, Maggie! Surrender was definitely different, but I still enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to the new record. For anyone new to her (@barbaraBB @batsy), she broke out by making Pharrell cry 😄 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAM1N1APk80 2mo
BarbaraBB Oow @TieDyeDude that‘s interesting 2mo
merelybookish @BarbaraBB @batsy She is worth a listen! And had no idea about the Pharrell story @TieDyeDude 2mo
merelybookish @sarahbarnes Well I'm not surprised we agree! 👯 2mo
merelybookish @CBee @Billypar I listened to Past Lives to the point where I almost can't listen to it anymore. Which is a bummer. 2mo
vivastory Heard It In a Past Life was the 5th album I added to my Spotify library. 💙 (edited) 2mo
CBee @TieDyeDude that‘s how I discovered her! I downloaded “Alaska” as soon as it was available ♥️ 2mo
CBee @merelybookish so I LOVE the new single. I‘ve listened to it a bunch today ♥️ 2mo

Day 2: When I think of transcending or transcendence I think of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Grateful Dead, among others. And Comfortably Numb is one of the first songs that comes to mind that gives me those epic transcendental vibes.
