Thank you to each of these individuals for writing their stories and living in their truths. Their stories matter. Representation matters.

JamieArc I was excited to scoop up The Other Side of Paradise at a local library book sale. It‘s definitely on my list to read in the next year. 4y

Today is a good reminder to update one's profile, with the supportive awareness of preferred gender pronouns. I use (they/them) for an androgynous description, while either he or she is okay with me; I get around friendly jokes at the kitchen job. Sometimes what isn't Out, can bring up more asked .. but no worries on having to answer for sure. Be safe and authentically you!

Happy National Coming Out Day, litsy family!
❤💛💚💙💜 🏳️‍🌈💕
I came out as bisexual when I was 16, and at the time the only place I felt safe enough to explore this new discovery was the library! 📚💕 Reading about characters who were the same as me was such a positive and empowering experience! I'm so grateful for the LGBTQ books (then and now) that help so many people realize they are not alone!

DaveGreen7777 What an inspirational post! Thank you for sharing your story, Becky! 😊❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🌈 5y
Emilymdxn This is a wonderful post and a wonderful day! Bisexual pride forever from a fellow bi litten. Books were where I discovered so much about myself and I am SO grateful for the access I had to books that helped me work out who I was. 5y
Branwen @DaveGreen7777 Thank YOU so much, friend, for listening and always being so supportive! 💕 @Emilymdxn Thanks so much! Bi littens unite! 💕👭 I think we are so lucky to have so many amazing books to help us and so many others understand who we are! 5y

Remember on #NationalComingOutDay 🏳️‍🌈 that the most important person to come out to is yourself. You don't owe anyone a big moment or explanation. Stay safe and stay true to yourself. 🖤

Happy #nationalcomingoutday! I only recently realized I‘m bi and am still working my way out irl/looking for community. It‘s nice to have this little oasis of bookish acceptance in the meantime.LJs was one of the first places I saw myself, and I love that I can be excited, find more #queerbooks, and keep learning about our community here.Love to all our LGBTQ2SIA+ littens, whether you are in, out or in-between you are important and valid and loved.

Happy #nationalcomingoutday litsy! To mark the occasion, I‘m sharing a few #queerbooks and other media that brought me moments of pride and joy (is there a queer essay collection called Pride and Joy yet? There should be).

LGBTQ2SIA+ Littens, whether you‘re out to yourself or out to the world, I‘m glad to be under the rainbow with you 💖🌈

WhatDeeReads I have watch The Emotion Picture no fewer than 30 times. I may watch it again today. 6y
Broke_Girl_Reads @WhatDeeReads Same!! Janelle can do no wrong! 6y
CouronneDhiver Excuse my ignorance... what does the end of that acronym stand for? I know the LGBTQ part... 6y
See All 6 Comments
Broke_Girl_Reads @CouronneDhiver it‘s a fair question! 2S stands for Two Spirit, a respected gender identity among the indigenous people of North America. This is a good explainer on it: https://www.google.com/amp/s/newsmaven.io/indiancountrytoday/api/amp/indiancount... 6y
Broke_Girl_Reads @CouronneDhiver the I stands for Intersex, which is people who are born with bodies that aren‘t easily categorizable as biologically male or biologically female. And then the A is Asexual or Aromantic, people who don‘t experience sexual attraction, or don‘t experience romantic feelings 6y
hoggman @Broke_Girl_Reads although inclusion of the I is falling out of favor recently. I've heard from many more people who dont want to be included than who do, since theirs is a medical state, not a gender. (Not telling you off or anything, its not *wrong* anyway, just think its interesting) 6y
