Pub date: Sept. 23, 2025.

Oh yay! I was approved for an ARC of this book. The series is based Frances Glessner Lee, the real-life mother of forensic science.

WWII widow Maple Bishop's dollhouse business is thriving. She's used her miniatures to help the sheriff solve an earlier murder. Now he's asking for her help again when a body is found in a burned cabin.

I love all of Charlotte Stein's work, and this book is no exception. It focused on Nancy, who struggles to find love and Jack who is clueless about dating, mostly because is the son of satan, and has to learn lots about being a human as he goes along.

CoffeeK8 Nancy offers to help Jack become a better boyfriend, and while the two start getting closer and closer to each other, Nancy begins to be able to access her witch powers and begins to understand how much more there is to the world than she ever imagined.

Thank you to #Netgally and #StMartinsPress for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

A gripping, heartbreaking and at times hopeful look at the woman of California‘s Penal system who are on the front lines of firefighting. Thanks #netgally for the arc!

Lives up to everything I wanted as a cozy fantasy! This books is warm and heart felt with a low level of intrigue and adventure to keep everything moving along. All of the characters are masterfully composed and fully formed, I felt like they always existed and were just waiting for me to arrive. I can't wait to read the rest of the series! They were original published as a web series and are being complied into books, and I can barely wait!

I loved this book as much as The Last Flight! It involves two women—one a con-woman and one who‘s struggling with who she is. It alternates between past and present and the twists and turns will keep your head spinning! Highly recommended!
Thanks to #netgally for this ARC!
