This. Was. Amazing! Do not let the bright cover fool you - a first person view of hate and bias through the eyes of 16 year old Allie. Allie‘s family is Muslim, though not practicing at the moment. Yet, they‘re not immune to hateful speeches and circumstances. This is an eye opening read for YA, so perfectly done. I highly recommend this one. I was so blown away by it I had to keep listening.

My 2019 pick for #NewIn20192020 #TeenAngst #BBRC

This was a treat! I am not a horror fan by any means, yet the humor in the novel propelled me through the most gory passages. I had to keep reading what happened next. While some of the characters made me want to roll my eyes, I was highly entertained.

I also (sheepishly) discovered I had this through #NetGalley, so many thanks to the publisher for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.

What to say about Evvie Drake? I kept thinking while reading this how human Evvie is - she‘s flawed and complicated, and there were times I could totally relate to her. The middle of this book is the slowest part. I liked this one. My #Newin2019 for #Booked2019 and my #Newin20192020 for #GrowUp #BBRC .
