#Booked2019 Thankyou #publicdomain My last book in my first book challenge. A reread , a brilliant story. I remember now what I loved , it is the study of contradictions - of what it means to be human - that I learned so much from. Based on Gauguin & how art “ heightens the poignancy that all beauty has“ sensual & spiritual.I‘m blown away by this one. This challenge had me revisiting 2 books I might never have read again 💔 challenge done ✅ 💃🏾
What to say about Evvie Drake? I kept thinking while reading this how human Evvie is - she‘s flawed and complicated, and there were times I could totally relate to her. The middle of this book is the slowest part. I liked this one. My #Newin2019 for #Booked2019 and my #Newin20192020 for #GrowUp #BBRC .
This was an impressive debut from Angie Kim. A riveting courtroom drama with authentic characters. The mystery will draw you in but it's the powerful, honest portrayal of parenthood, disability care, and immigration that will make you fall. One of my favorite reads this year!

#MMDChallenge A Book About A Topic That Fascinates You
I‘m a first time middle school mom this year so I was interested in seeing what this was all about. It definitely has some solid tips and a lot of food for thought. I almost would like to own it to refer back to the tips as things come up. It‘s not as good of a how to guide as say “untangled.” It also added some worries that i had never thought of worrying about before! 😬😬😬
I was underwhelmed and disappointed by this finale. There were pacing issues throughout (similar to the other three books) and then, all the action and the finale were over too quickly.
