At 21 years, LotMD is the oldest on my #tbrlist. I lost the print version for whatever circumstance, but since found the 20th anniversary ebook. It‘s been uploaded and finally getting read along with the bios on Prince and Stevie Nicks.

This is my #oldestTBRbook
It‘s been on my list since it came out in 2001. You can see by the price sticker that I purchased this copy in 2014! #procrastinator @DivaDiane

suvata Oh, you must read it. It‘s so good! 7y
DivaDiane No worries!! You‘ll love it! It‘s very good! 7y
Cinfhen That was a good investment 🤑 7y

I declare 2018 the year of the #tbrsmackdown. I‘m following the #MountTBRchallenge led by @DivaDiane and shopping my shelves! I have 43 physical books, plus ebooks in queue.

LiteraryinPA Oooh, looks like some great ones there!! 7y
DivaDiane Ooh! Nice! 7y
DivaDiane I just posted yesterday about the book that‘s been languishing the longest. #OldestTBRbook Which is yours? 7y

ptkpepe98 That book is a treasure!💞💞💞 7y
speljamr @ptkpepe98 I found it long ago at a Library sale. 7y
tournevis Ugh. The (not so very good) memories of my history of thought class back in 1992. 7y
annkuch13 I spy Darth Plagueis! That's still one of my favorites even though it's Legends. 7y
DivaDiane Nice. 7y

#MountTbrChallenge #OldestTBRbook

I'm not sure if this is my oldest tbr book that I physically own - but it's up there. I've had this since 2009 and for whatever reason haven't gotten around to reading it yet.

One day. 😅

@DivaDiane

TricksyTails 😍 Love the cover! 7y
BookNAround My oldest TBR is Wings of the Dove by Henry James and I‘ve owned it since high school (for time reference, I have two children in college and my baby is in high school himself). Maybe I should get off my butt and tackle it this year! 7y

DivaDiane Looks fun! My oldest book is 20 years old. I‘ve already started it, but I can‘t carry it around with me, so I forget to read it. (edited) 7y
DivaDiane @BookNAround do it!! You get so much satisfaction!!! 7y
GrilledCheeseSamurai @DivaDiane Oh my goodness. OTHERLAND 🙌. Tad Williams is one of my absolute favorite authors. I understand how you can't carry it around. Tad's books are monsters. Otherland is actually up for a re-read for me this year. Haven't read it since it was first published. I'm so excited to re-visit. 7y
DivaDiane @GrilledCheeseSamurai and this is a hardcover!! Oh, can we do a buddy read? I think if I had a commitment to read and discuss, then I might manage. I‘m a slow reader though and a polygamous one as well. Would it work for you? 7y
GrilledCheeseSamurai @DivaDiane Heck yeah it would. I didn't have a time frame on when I was going to re-read this series I just knew I wanted it to be 2018. Give me a few days to figure out how I can incorporate this in and we'll talk? 🙌🍻 7y
TobeyTheScavengerMonk @DivaDiane The samurai knows of what he speaks! The Otherland books are AMAZING! 7y
DivaDiane @GrilledCheeseSamurai Perfect! I‘m already about 100 pages in, but it‘s at home and we won‘t be getting home till tomorrow and then, we‘ll, there‘s no rush. Let me know. 7y
GrilledCheeseSamurai @DivaDiane I pulled my hardcover off the shelf...then immediately went and got an e-book version of it. 😅 I already lugged that sucker around with me once before when I first read it. Times have changed...I dont gotta put myself through that again. 🙌 7y
GrilledCheeseSamurai @DivaDiane I'll probably start up this weekend. Maybe even sneak a few pages in before that. #OtherlandBuddyRead 7y
DivaDiane Cool! I think I have to review a little bit. It‘s been a while since I read in it! I‘m getting home tomorrow. Let me know how far you get when you get started. I‘ll do the same. (edited) 7y
DivaDiane Haha! Just read the other post! I know. I think I may have to invest in the ebook. 7y

#MountTBRChallenge Readers! Tell us which physical book has been on your TBR shelf the longest. Is it on your TBR for this year or anytime soon? This is not an exercise in shame, but rather a celebration that we are hacking away at that TBR mountain and finding hidden gems! #OldestTBRbook

Bookzombie I‘m not sure. Maybe Matterhorn and it is on my list to read this year. 7y
DivaDiane 20 years. That‘s how long it‘s been on my shelves. I blame the actual book‘s size. It‘s a brick. It is 7y
LeahBergen Hmm... I think I‘ve had a few on my TBR for over 20 years. 😂 7y

AnneCecilie I have at least unread book bought in 2004 and several more from 2005. I'm not sure if I will get to these, they are mostly classics and I have to see where the moods take me 😀 7y
Pamwurtzler It‘s been there since I joined GR - tHe first book on my list is 7y
Ash.on.the.line Probably pride and prejudice I‘ve had it forever, I‘ll probably like it and yet I keep putting it off! I can‘t wait to tackle this mountain lol! 7y
DivaDiane @LeahBergen yay! I‘m not alone! I know I bought them for good reason. and in the past couple years of making an effort to read them, I have been delighted with those 20 year old books! 7y
DivaDiane @Ash.on.the.line That‘s ok, I have a couple of unread books by my fave author Ursula K. LeGuin. It‘s like I‘m saving them for when I know there won‘t be any new books by her forthcoming. 7y
DivaDiane @AnneCecilie That‘s perfectly fine, I feel you! 7y
DivaDiane @Pamwurtzler So, what, 8 years? 7y
Pamwurtzler Ha! Yep. It‘s a tiny little book and I love HP - no idea why I haven‘t read it yet. I saw someone review it recently - maybe I‘ll get to it too. 7y
DivaDiane @Pamwurtzler Go for it! I bet you‘ll be happy you did! 7y
GlassAsDiamonds Probably 20yrs as well... (and embarrassingly the same copy has moved, unread, from Sydney to Shanghai to Mumbai and it‘s STILL on my TBR...🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️). 7y
DivaDiane 🤣🤣I think you might have me beat! My oldest unread book has “only” moved around Europe: Frankfurt (several apartments), Heidelberg, London, Hannover (Germany), Paris, and now England (again)! But then, I‘ve schlepped all of my books around so it‘s no special feat for Otherland. 7y
