My 2nd stop was #Krakow 🇵🇱, a city full of history. I did a tour through the Auschwitz Museum, another walking tour through the Jewish district and I visited the Oskar Schindler Fabrik. The tour guide recommended the tagged book to me. It‘s incredibly researched and also talks about lot about the famous movie, although it gets lost in the details a bit.

My friend chose this book for me. One of the youngest on Schindler‘s List, Leon tells his story about surviving the Holocaust. A good book for middle school/high school readers. Most have seen the movie but this explains the before and after of that terrible time. Schindler was a hero.

Where Light and Shadow Meet: A Memoir | Erika L. Rosenberg, Erika Rosenberg, Emilie Schindler
Pickpick

Wanted to hear Mrs.Schindler‘s side of the story. She was a rock if a woman, taking abuse and giving kindness to many. While no author, her short story does offer a valuable lesson: don‘t expect accolades if you do great deeds for others. Do whatever you can when you can because it is just the right thing to do.

There are no words to do justice to review an account like this from the perspective of someone looking back on their experiences as a youth on Schindler‘s list. It will break your heart.

megnews I read Pictures in 2015. Can‘t remember it. But I do love most anything by Giff. I have Boy on the Wooden Box on my tbr this month. Hope to get to it. I‘m often reminded how similar our reading tastes are. 😃 (edited) 4y
sblbooks @megnews I hope you can read it soon. It's definitely worth the Christopher Award. That's why it made my TBR four Award winners Edition. 4y
