“no matter how tough you think you are, there are certain things that just get to you, and they‘re usually the little things. the ones you don‘t expect.“
#favoritebooktomovieadaptation You really have to ask? 😄 I guess it‘s only #humannature to long for home. And some of the magic in Oz seems a bit like #weirdscience #movember #gratefulreads #namastenovember #multitasking 🌪🌈👠
The Wicked Witch of the West is much scarier in the movie, due to Margaret Hamilton‘s iconic performance. And I suppose a witch might enjoy living in a #ghosttown #characteryoulovetohate #gratefulreads #illgetyoumypretty #movember
I was SO excited about the world promised in this book, and so disappointed by the the delivery. What this could have been in the hands of, say, Brom, would have been amazing! Instead, it‘s a Mary Sue tale that falls apart at the end.
Saw this on my feeds today and thought it was a great story to share. They are building an actual yellow brick road in Humboldt Park where Frank Baum wrote The Wizard of Oz. #yellowbrickroad #wizardofoz #theresnoplacelikehome
What an adventurous read! Dorothy wants to be rescued from the strange land she happens to be in accidentally and wishes to go back home, but before that, she goes on a series of thrilling events with her friends (Lion, Scarecrow, and Tin Woodman) and her dog Toto. I absolutely loved reading this tale.
It recently occurred to me that I had never read this book. (I know.) So, I rectified that! It was a fun listen, though I‘m a little surprised at the amount of violence and talk of killing others in a children‘s book. I‘m not sure how this would be received in a new book nowadays.
