Mehso-so

I finished this in one day. My main complaint about it is that it tries to cover too much ground in one book. As such, I feel like it covers only a little about a lot of different things. So, if you‘re interested in something covered in the book, at best you get a tiny taste of it before that topic is over, and she‘s on to the next thing. I suppose I‘m not the target audience for this. Maybe it would appeal more to beginners. #witchy

The front cover of this cookbook is rather plain compared to the lovely photography inside. There are lots of holiday specific ideas in this book, some of which I may try. There were painted walnut shells with fortunes inside them, witches‘ ladders, different ways to use salt, spell jars and lots and lots of recipes. A lot of the recipes looked difficult to make, though, and many of them had unusual ingredients like nettles. I like the idea, ⬇️

slategreyskies (Cont.) but for me, this was a #borrownotbuy. I‘m glad I checked it out from the library instead of purchasing it. A soft pick. #witchy 2d

This was a soft pick for me. It definitely felt more like a self-help book than it did a witchy book, although it was both. The book is divided into chapters based on different areas: mindset, confidence, calm, mental health and relationships. I liked several of the ideas included and intend to use them. There‘s LOTS of swearing in this book, so if that bothers you, give this one a pass. For me, this was a #borrownotbuy. #witchy #selfhelp

I read this in one day. The intro was fairly surface level, but the spells were creative without using a huge range of hard to find ingredients. Many different types of spells were included, from jar spells to knotwork, oils to candles, baths to blessing bowls. I think it has a nice range of spells to choose from. I appreciated the tables of correspondences at the back. Definitely a beginner book, but useful for intermediate practitioners too. ⬇️

This was very informative. In my opinion, it was largely Wicca based, with the rituals included usually meant for a coven rather than a solitary practitioner, although there were some places where ideas for modifying for one were included. This book has hundreds of citations and over fifty different sources with an extensive reading list at the back. It had a lot of history in it and was well researched. Recommended! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ #witchy #Wicca

I really enjoyed this book. It‘s interesting how women have been treated throughout history. Even today being a woman can be difficult.
