pickThis was a fantastic story about how mermaids came to be. The story itself is tragic. The mermaids came from pregnant slaves who were thrown overboard, and their babies became mermaids or rather the wajinru. One wajinru at a time is chosen to keep all the memories of their people. And it's Yetu's time.
