My favorite way to read is by following along with the audio.
I was working on The Shadow Rising but wasn‘t able to finish before the audio had to go back to the library. Thankfully my hold for the audio of Dark Age came in just before so I can read that while I wait for The Shadow Rising to come back to me.
so-soFinished this book because I needed to know how it ended but honestly, the violence in this series is so gross. After book 2 i vowed not read another but alas, how quickly we forget. I see why people like the series: it‘s epic and has great characters, but it‘s also hard to relate to the sheer scale of the space battles. I think I‘m done for reals this time.
so-soThis is the 4th book in the series and a little hard to get through. Everyone on Reddit says to polish through cause it‘s setting up the next 2 books and they were right.. the last 4 chapters of the book definitely got the ball rolling! I‘m excited and scared to start the 5th book in the series 📚
pickThe 3rd book in the original trilogy. This book had me on the edge of my seat!! It was so good with lots of twists! I‘m excited to see what the next three books bring 🥰 I‘m hoping it will be the same characters, I‘ll find out soon 📖
pickI'm not being melodramatic when I say that I will NEVER recover from this book. If it were possible, I would confiscate these characters from Brown until he learns how to treat them better. I can't believe he killed my favourite character! Despite all of that, I will never stop singing the praises of this series (apparently, I'm a sucker for punishment because this is my favourite instalment). I will say, be VERY mindful of the trigger warnings.
pickEqual in mayhem and violence as the Red Rising trilogy, Iron Gold adds a deeper layer of introspection through multi-povs, revelling in the inner streams of consciousness of four flawed characters. Action packed, mature, Homeric; reminiscent of Greek tragedies. I was enthralled by the interwoven narratives; favouring Darrow's, Lyria's, and Ephraim's, all fraught with emotional insight, whilst harbouring contempt for Lysander. Highly devourable.
