I was really looking forward to this book because I love her other books. Sadly it didn‘t live up to my expectations. It was not as thriller like as I wanted it to be and the ending was a little bit of a let down. That is not to say it was a bad book - I enjoyed it and found it to be a good story with a good plot and characters who I loved. There were a few twists I was not expecting and that I found surprising. Overall I would recommend!

I grabbed this book on a whim at the grocery store for something to read on the beach and it was such a good read.
You are so wrapped up in the characters that you don't realize how well the author has layered in dynamics of systems in this country and how society views who is and isn't deserving of compassion, dignity & chances. The characters are so unlikable, but incredibly fascinating with a surprise ending you never saw coming. Read it!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A compelling family read of secrets and their lasting impact. I liked the way Lange built each chapter from a character‘s line in the preceding chapter to shift POV. I will read more from her

A dark love story, set in a haunted house.
Enjoyed it for a “change” of genre 😂

5 Stars • Want to Know a Secret? by Freida McFadden is a psychological thriller about April Masterson, a YouTube baking star with a seemingly perfect life. Dark secrets, including her son‘s odd behavior, an affair, and a buried secret, unravel when she receives threatening texts. Set in a drama-filled suburban neighborhood, the story builds suspense throughout and is a fast-paced, twisty read for fans of domestic thrillers.

This was more of a mystery/suspense than it was a thriller. It is a very slow burn. I liked the way the author left little puzzle pieces for you to try to piece together before the main character. I didn't trust anyone and suspected everyone. I think the writing was so well done, I felt like anyone could have actually been the who did it, and it would have made sense. Beautiful writing, very atmospheric, but a little too slow. 4.5/5

On Monday I finished The Sea of Lost Girls. I love her mysteries! This one was not my favorite of hers but it was still a good escape. I did not connect with the main character who repeatedly frustrated me. I didn‘t figure out who dunnit though so that was fun!

No One Can Know: A Novel | Kate Alice Marshall

Pickpick

The novel centers on Emma Palmer, who, after discovering her pregnancy and facing financial hardship, returns to her childhood home in Arden Hills—a place she fled fourteen years prior following the unsolved murder of her parents. As another murder occurs, Emma and her estranged sisters, Juliette and Daphne, are forced to confront their shared past and the secrets they've kept from each other. A lot of secrets and the ending is unhinged.
