I liked this book but feel like it‘s going to be hard to review. The whole time, you‘re waiting for Elle to make her choice and yet you‘re left on the last page, still not knowing for sure who she chose. In my opinion, the ending didn‘t do the story justice.

I don‘t watch reality dating shows but I LOVED this book!! Bea was the perfect heroine. She brought a fresh, and much needed, perspective to the world of reality tv. If you love a sweet rom-com with a picturesque ending, this is the book for you!

What do you do when your best friend and your husband both break your trust?

This book was good and I understand why it ended the way it did, but it felt so incomplete to me. I would have preferred a more concrete decision from the heroine but it was more true to life with the ending.

Unpopular opinion: the best part of this book was the cat.

I heard wonderful things about this book but it just didn‘t do it for me. It seemed to drag on forever. I know the dialect was to engross the reader in the location and era but it made it much more difficult to follow. There were good parts to the book but the overall story fell flat.

SamAnne I‘m in the same boat. I loved the descriptions on the marsh, etc but found aspects of the story too unbelievable. It was a so so for me. 2mo
Ahw06 @SamAnne I‘m glad I‘m not alone in that. There has been so much hype around it but it just wasn‘t for me. 2mo

I really enjoyed this book! I had no clue it was a follow up to Big Summer until I was about 25% of the way in and saw a character‘s name in it. It‘s not a sequel in the sense of having the same characters and continuing their story line, but more of a different branch of the timeline with new characters. I can‘t wait for the 3rd one to come out - The Last Summer.

This book was an excellent continuation of the first. I love a perfect romantic ending but there was something with how this one ended that just made me love it more. It left the story open enough for the possibility of a 3rd book, while also concluding the storylines with enough room for curiosity about what will happen later. I adore this series!

I loved this book! It really is the perfect summer read, filled with so many touching moments. The characters were so well written with enough realness to their stories that you could see someone‘s love life playing out the same way. If you like romance with laugh out loud moments, real life disappointments and the best ending, read this book. You won‘t regret it!

Anxiety, depression and suicide are at the forefront of this book, but it is so beautifully written. While most books with these themes so prevalent can be quite triggering, this book wasn‘t (at least for me). A story that is not just about hope but about appreciating all the little things that are so easy to overlook. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is in a rut and is unable to see the beauty in their life.

This book was a combo of two of my favorites, romance and thriller / mystery. I loved the transition in the book from one genre to the next and how it covered the more difficult parts of loving yourself and realizing how good you really do have it. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good romance but also wants to be caught up in the suspense of a thriller / mystery.

This book was good but not great. I was really enjoying the book until about 75% of the way in when the suspense just stopped. I felt like it started wrapping up too soon and I suddenly missed the “I wonder what‘s going to happen next” urge to keep reading.

This book really needs a trigger warning. There are so many serious subjects in it and very few of the high ratings actually disclose this. Reading a summary of the book, I really didn‘t think I was going to be getting into a book about child abuse, mental illness, domestic violence, etc.

This book was ok but it is not the book for me.

katy4peas Bummer. That‘s not what the summary says at all. 😕 4mo
Ahw06 @katy4peas yea I really thought I was just reading another enjoyable, lighthearted book. I debated not even finishing it, but I never do that. It‘s not a bad book but be prepared for a lot of really tough subjects to pop up as you‘re reading. 4mo
katy4peas Hmm. Thanks for the warning. I‘m up for ditching. I‘ve decided there are too many books I want to read, so if I don‘t like it I move on. That seems to be my motto for the year. 🤷‍♀️ 4mo
Ahw06 @katy4peas you‘re welcome! Ditching would‘ve definitely been better in this case 4mo

Some books should have trigger warnings, regardless of where you are borrowing / purchasing them from. This is that book. I‘m 21% of the way through and I can‘t decide whether or not I should just bail on this one. I haven‘t bailed on a book yet but this is disturbing. There have already been implications of severe mental illness, child abuse, domestic violence and emotional / psychological abuse.

This book ended exactly how I wanted it to and provided hope in a way that only a book can do. In a world where everyone has flaws, it was lovely to see that each character was so well written. Every character had depth, which only made me love them more. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who needs a more realistic rom-com in their life! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #AmazonFirstReads

This book was wonderful! I really can‘t say enough about this book. From the very first page, I was hooked. There‘s something so relatable about each character, and yet, they‘re all so different. The chapters flow from character to character, each one a seamless transition to continue the story. I had the ending pretty much figured out 3/4 of the way through, but it was the perfect ending and exactly what I wanted to see! A definite must read! 4⭐️

Nute I‘ve read good comments about this book. I hadn‘t heard of this author. I use to belong to BOMC. Sometimes I miss it because of how it exposed me to new authors or unknown to me authors. 4mo
Ahw06 This book was far better than I expected and even saying that isn‘t doing it justice. I joined BOTM for the same reason but honestly I actually just stopped my membership after a couple of months. The selections were good but I got a Kindle and you just can‘t beat the price comparison for ebooks vs actual books. It would be amazing if they did a kindle version of BOTM! 4mo
katy4peas @Nute @Ahw06 I just quit BOTM as the books weren‘t my taste and I am a slow reader so I was just piling up books faster than I could read on the months when I did order a title. However, if you still know your login, you can snoop through the titles. They let you in and try to convince you to join again, but I like snooping thru the titles as it helps me with RA at the library job. 🤷‍♀️ I like that I can still see the book picks. 4mo

Ahw06 @katy4peas I do the same now! I kept the app so I look to see what they‘re promoting. That way I can add it to my TBR if anything sounds interesting. 4mo
Nute @Ahw06 @katy4peas I didn‘t know that I could still access the app site for BOMC after termination of membership. It‘s been a couple of years. They still send me loads of emails monthly with invites to return. I won‘t reconsider, at least not at this time, I accumulated way too many books through them…not enough shelf space to store only hardbacks and sometimes I purchased books just for the heck of it even though I wasn‘t truly interested. 4mo
Ahw06 @Nute @katy4peas space was definitely one of the reasons I switched to the Kindle. That and I didn‘t always like the books. I ended up doing two months of BOTM but the first month I was able to pick from any of the members‘ favorites, which I preferred because none of the June books looked appealing. 4mo

I‘m really enjoying this months‘ #BOTM pick so far!

It covers quite a few tougher subjects but the writing style makes it seem like you‘ve known the characters for years and somehow makes the subjects easier to handle. Each chapter focuses on a different character than the one before it, but they flow together seamlessly.
