The story is based on Persuasion by Jane Austen but set in a very different world where a genetic experiment went wrong and as a result any type of technology and experimenting are banned. TheAromaofBooks I've been meaning to read this one!! I accidentally read the sequel a few years ago because it was billed as a retelling of The Scarlet Pimpernel - how could I resist?? But there were a few things I didn't “get“ when I read it - and then I found out it was actually a sequel! Now I want to read them both. 4y
