“The divine has such passionate creativity and instinct for the fully inhabited life. If you allow yourself to be the person that you are, then everything will come into rhythm. If you live the life you love, you will receive shelter and blessings. Sometimes the great famine of blessing in and around us derives from the fact that we are not living the life we love, rather we are living the life that is expected of us.”

lynneamch So many beautiful lessons in this book. Time for a reread. Also 4mo

April‘s #DoubleSpin is clear—and is also my #44 pick for #50x50. For my #BookSpin, I get to pick a book published in the 1950s—70s for #192025. Above are the three I‘m thinking about… any recommendations?

Suet624 Yay for Anam Cara. I‘ve only read A Separate Peace (as a teenager) out of the three and I liked it. (edited) 5mo
TheBookHippie I like them all 👀🤫🙃 5mo
BarbaraJean @Suet624 I'm really looking forward to Anam Cara. It's been on my list for so long and it's nice to have the “assignment“ to read it! @TheBookHippie Good news is I'll be reading them all at some point before the end of the year!! 5mo

TheAromaofBooks Oh Black Sheep is one of my favorite Heyer romances!! 4mo
BarbaraJean @TheAromaofBooks Oh, that‘s good to know! I‘ve been leaning toward Black Sheep anyway because I‘m pretty sure that will be a nice escapist read—the other two, not so much 😆 4mo

The ego is the source a lot of anger, heartache and anxiety for many of us. Definitely a new age, philosophy take on how to let things go so that your ego doesn‘t consume your life. Some good parenting tips, but it was repetitive in its advice and anecdotes.

Suet624 That darn ego! 5mo

This is another one of those woo woo past lives books, so I don‘t have much to say about it that can‘t be found in another Michael Newton style book. I do find the whole topic rather fascinating. I think it‘s one of few theories or phenomena that adequately address why you are you right now having this experience and not someone else in a different body having a different experience in a different time and place. For me, it‘s a central mystery.
