I‘d never read this before or seen the film all the way through. As a kid, I lumped it in with ‘Leprechaun‘ or ‘Nightmare on Elm Street‘ - gory camp that at the right time of day was unsettling. Reading this now as an adult, it‘s much more upsetting than I gave it credit for.

The book is exactly as advertised (‘Horror Movie‘/‘The Ring‘ maybe through a Stephen King-esque lens), but also fully delivers on heart with this large cast of characters and heart-pounding, unsettling scares. This book is out next week and is ideal for #SpookySzn. Wehunt definitely “belongs” with us horror nerds. 👑

I still have to finish Crazy Rich Asians but… at some point I decided Nick was an inconsiderate doofus and I‘m kinda over it 🤣 but with only 100 pages left I‘m gonna tough it out.
My October is pretty fresh - the majority are new print books I snapped up during Penguin Random House‘s mystery box sale and so many fit a #SpookySzn aesthetic. Tried to make it even since it‘s easier for me to go through audiobooks even though it‘s a goal to read more print. 🤷🏻♀️
