Pickpick

I made the decision not to try to guess the outcome of thrillers and just sit back and enjoy the twists and turns. And there are a lot to enjoy in this #NYWD22 pick from Scott! There is a dead family, a possibly wrongly accused brother, and another brother trying to find peace and justice. I loved the angle of the true crime documentary. Sometimes this many plot lines could cause confusion, but Findlay keeps it under control. Definite pick!

Cinfhen Nice!! I think that‘s a good approach- just get lost in the story instead of trying to play detective 2y
vivastory Glad you enjoyed this one! I've gotten better about figuring out who (not always) but the why is often harder. (edited) 2y
Megabooks @Cinfhen yeah, I think it‘s the right choice for me, but I get the fun of figuring out motives @vivastory . My mom reads lots of mysteries and loves figuring out motives, too. It‘s a great pick either way, Scott. 👍🏻 2y

monalyisha Trying to figure out the answers always hinders my enjoyment because I feel like oftentimes, you‘re not going to know until the author wants you to know, no matter how closely you‘re reading — and that drives me batty! But I don‘t think I‘m chill enough to stop trying, anyway. Good for you. I think it‘s admirable. Very zen-like, in that “let go of your attachments” way. (edited) 2y
Cortg I never try to figure the outcome, it takes too much energy and brainpower. But, if I do realize where it‘s going, I‘m always excited when I‘m right 😂 2y
Megabooks @monalyisha I try to be really chill/zen-like in all aspects of my life since I turned 40. I was so high-strung in my 20s and 30s! I am successful most of the time with books, but I am still working on it in some other aspects of my life. 😂 (edited) 2y
Megabooks @Cortg that is definitely true re: brainpower! 2y
monalyisha @Megabooks Ha! Seems like a good place to start. 😅 Begin with what you know, right? 😉 2y
Cinfhen Nicely played 💗 2y
BarbaraTheBibliophage Sounds like a good plan and a good book! 2y
