This one is a liiiiiiiitle slower paced than my last read. From Drake on the high seas to Schleswig-Holstein. Interestingly, they both have a lot of Lutherans running about.

Just FYI: It is super hard to be anxious while covered in blankets and dogs. I recommend sleepy dog piles to EVERYONE.

Tambourines to Glory: A Novel | Langston Hughes

The puppas are not enjoying this walk in the rain, yet they INSIST on going out. 🤷🏻‍♀️
Listening to Hughes, fabulously narrated (and sung! In multiple voices!) by the incredibly talented Myra Lucretia Taylor.
James McBride used a lot of similar themes in Deacon King Kong, which I read and loved recently. Both books are great.

#Audiobookwalk with the puppas in the misty drizzle today. The Stephen Fry narration helped - it's fabulous. Stella is a delicate Pibble flower and hates to get wet, so she's wearing her cashmere sweater. 😂

#Audiobookwalk in the drizzle. Thankful that the heat has broken, but the humidity is still killing me. The dogs had to wear their jackets because the pit bull is a big baby and hates getting wet. 😄
Sadly, given the book, we did not see any burrowing owls.

The Erratics | Vicki Laveau-Harvie

Have convinced #Stella that the footstool is a completely suitable place for sitting, in lieu of my lap, but she keeps throwing me the side eye if I dare to move my foot. Apparently the pibble princess requires pillows and support for her chin.
#Suzie is much less particular.
