"The heat came with the devil. It was the summer of 1984, and while the devil had been invited, the heat had not. It should've been expected though. Heat is, after all, the devil's name, and when's the last time you left home without yours?" #thesummerthatmeltedeverything #tiffanymcdaniel #ilfaitchaud #hotbooks #whattoread #bookishquote #bookstagram

Life is short! Drink #coffee & stay awake for it.

Almost finished with my #currentread #thehatinggame & I'm pulling my next read from these three books. I SHOULD go back to #thesummerthatmeltedeverything but I'm not in the right frame of mind for it.
.
.
#qotd Do you preorder books? If so from where? #Amazon or from #publisher I'm quite curious if preorders come with any perks if bought straight from publishers.

Mdargusch Great photo. Sorry, I haven't read any of those books, so I can't give an opinion. I have Mosquitoland on my TBR too. 7y
BookFreakOut I occasionally preorder books, especially when the author is coming to a nearby store and buying from them gets you a signing ticket to the event. A lot of YA authors do preorder campaigns with goodies, but your proof of purchase can typically be submitted from any retail store/Amazon. (edited) 7y
Reviewsbylola I very rarely pre order books. I get a lot of new releases through Book of the Month and even if there is something I really want to read, I usually wait a few months because I buy it and then forget about it anyway so may as well wait until the paperback release! 7y

emily_m_tubb I very rarely preorder, as there's never any perks. I will preorder signed copies if I think they are going to be extremely popular- I've just preordered a signed copy of Tom Hanks' book that is due out October (I think) 😁 7y
Zelma Funny. I just put down The Summer That Melted Everything too. I know I am going to love it but realized I wasn't in the right mood. 7y

I've discovered I panic the same whether I'm being attacked by a shark or out of #coffee 😆

What books have you bought because everyone else is reading them?
.
Come on, I know I'm not the only one! #thesummerthatmeltedeverything was featured on so many of your feeds! Plus I couldn't resist the lure of that cover either! .

DGRachel I just ordered all three of the N.K. Jemisin Broken Earth trilogy novels because everyone on Litsy is going nuts over the last book. 7y
BookFreakOut I found Underground Railroad and Homegoing used when everyone was talking about them...still part of the giant TBR pile! 7y
Bklover Too many to count! The Fifth Season, Beneath a Scarlet Sky, The Eyre Affair, Vilette, etc etc. (edited) 7y
mellisarock @BookFreakOut The Underground Railroad is one of the Diverse Book Clib picks on IG & Facebook! Might help you get it off your tbr to read it with that group in September! 7y
SconsinBookyBadger Inspired by several littens I have spontaneously bought Aristotle and Dante, I Call Upon Thee, Meddling Kids, and The Radium Girls. With plenty more on my wish list. 7y
[DELETED] 3803335244 I bought a lot of Marissa Meyer books. I still have yet to read Cinder, the first one in the series. My fear that I read it, don't like it & I bought every book in that series! Haha! Also Night Circus, I bought that because a friend wanted me too. 7y
Purrfectpages Trying to push through with this one now for that exact reason, everyone loves it! 7y
diovival Yup, I've done this too. Recently picked up 7y

It's dreary and rainy today so I'm curling up with some coffee and one of my favorite candles! I'm about a third of the way into The Summer that Melted Everything and while the material is heavy I'm loving the writing. Have you read this yet?? Thoughts?
