I got a LOT of chicken cheap at the commissary this week, so I made my fist foray into pressure canning. Now I have chicken soup for when I feel under the weather this winter.
The title of the book I was listening to is oddly appropriate 😄

#AudioCanning? Is that a thing?
At any rate, I got halfway through TSotW while putting up two boxes of apples. Chunky applesauce, cinnamon applesauce, apple slices in cinnamon-vanilla syrup, and apple rosemary jam.
Rereading this one for a book group, and I liked it a lot more this time around - the audio version, narrated by Jonathan Davis, is fabulous.

Aimeesue @emz711 The audio is great! Davis does a spectacular job with all the voices. The only drawback for some people may be the weird music that plays at the beginning of some - but not all- chapters. Doesn‘t bother me, but YMMV. 13mo

My listen for #audiocanning.

While the narrator was excellent, I did find myself confused between present day and the past on more than one occasion. Better delineation between the two times would have been helpful. Other than that, this was a look at a complicated time for a couple of complicated families.

Book 2/4 for #SuperSeptember

Making spicy ginger peach chutney is a meditative activity as I listen to this excellent book on the Sackler family & the opioid crisis. Even for a cynic, the family‘s refusal to take any responsibility for hurting millions of people combined w/ their ruthless business practices & determination to continue making profits from the destruction of people is stunning.
