The Last Olympian | Rick Riordan

Oh dear, adding the August books to the windowsill has created a bit of a traffic jam! 😂 Plus I still have to find out what my August #TrappedonanIsland read(s) will be!! This also doesn't include the six chapter-a-day(ish) books I'll be reading as well because I definitely do not have a problem!!

For the immediate #WeeklyForecast - I actually have DNF'd two Kindle books since yesterday, so those are slowly getting cleared out. Starting the ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) tagged book this morning, which will finish another series!! 🎉 Hoping to read The Railway Children for #ChildrensClassicsRead sooner rather than later this month as Exposure is supposedly the same story except from the POV of the adults, so I'm quite intrigued to read it. The Extraordinary Deaths of Mrs. Kip is an ARC review due soon, so that will probably be this week as well. The Hidden One is Castillow's latest Kate Burkholder ⬇ 2y
TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) mystery from the library and will be due soon, so it's also fairly high on the priority list. Otherwise, I'm just continuing my random draw from this pile to see what comes next!! We picked, sorted, and sold about 350 pecks of peaches plus a million blackberries last week and are anticipating even more this coming week, so things are busy at the orchard!!

Cinfhen For some reason seeing your monthly windowsill warms my heart 💜 2y
TheAromaofBooks @Cinfhen - It's like seeing a picture of optimism 😂 2y
marleed I love your windowsill of hope! 2y
TheAromaofBooks @marleed - Thank you!! If I just had nothing else to do I'm confident I could read all of these in like three days, right? 😂 2y
willaful I love The Railway Children! And there's a wonderful movie of it from the 70s -- on Kanopy, if your library has that. 2y
TheAromaofBooks @willaful - Ooo thanks for the tip!! I read The Railway Children many years ago and loved it, but can't remember anything about it now! 2y

The Princess and the Goblin | George MacDonald

Pickpick

I am familiar with some of George MacDonald's Christian fiction having read The Laird's Inheritance, so imagine my surprise when I learn he is considered the "Father of Fantasy." MacDonald can tell a great story no matter the genre. I would love to have this book adapted to film just to see Curdie's and the Goblin Queen's stamping battle. What a fun scene. Thanks @TheBookHippie for another great read. #ChildrensClassicsRead.

Butterfinger February's Just So Stories is one of my faves from my childhood. @TheBookHippie 3y
TheBookHippie @Butterfinger Yay!!! I just loved this book!!! It is a cartoon I hear there is a fun film from the 1990s animated I think. It‘s been so nuts I haven‘t looked it up yet! 3y
Butterfinger @TheBookHippie I confess I thought the great-great grandmother was a goblin in disguise to lead the princess to their lair. 3y
