This lopsided graphic bothers me but I‘m also too sleepy to fool with it anymore. Anyway I got a lot read this week but most were pretty short. It didn‘t make them any less enjoyable.

I feel like I got back into my reading groove this week! ☺️
Completed:
📖 Slaughterhouse-Five
📖The Governess Affair (a novella)
📖Linus: A Peanuts Collection
🎧 Bluebird, Bluebird

Started:
📖 A Boy and His Dog at the End of World
🎧 If I Was Your Girl

Centique Oh I loved the Governess Affair. 😍That whole series by Milan is my favourite romance series ever 💕💕 5d
Bookzombie @Centique I loved it too! I‘m definitely going to read the rest of the series. 4d
Reggie Lol, I‘m sorry to keep throwing RWA gossip atcha but I felt so bad for Courtney Milan. The lady from smart bitches trashy books did a 4 part series on her podcast about the drama and the whole last episode is with Courtney and she is pissed. And after her last words you can just hear the mic drop. 4d
See All 9 Comments
Bookzombie @Reggie No sorry needed. I was on a site last night that had a whole timeline and saw that Smart Bitches, Trashy Books had a series on it. I‘m probably going to listen while I work. I feel bad for Milan too. She has always been on my list to read so it kind of pushed her to the front for me. Have you read anything by her? 4d
Reggie I haven‘t because even though I have never tried them, something about historical in the name of the genre puts me off. Who knows, one day. 3d
Bookzombie @Reggie I‘m in the middle of the third episode with the PR person from RWA. It‘s difficult to listen to. She seems wholly unprepared or just can‘t say much. It‘s frustrating. 3d
Bookzombie @Reggie Why does historical in the name of the genre bother you? Is it all historical fiction or just romance? Friendly questions. You don‘t have to answer. 🙂 3d
Reggie @Bookzombie Omg, Lol, right? I wanted to know if she knew this interview was gonna happen or if they just threw her in a room with the interviewer. And I love how gentle the interviewer is with her but still asking the same question to be firm. It was totally cringey. And I‘m just that crazy kid who says he doesn‘t like onions but if you gave him something with onions that he doesn‘t know about he‘d still think it was delicious. The name 3d
Reggie historical is onions to me. I know I‘ve read books set in the past I just don‘t think of them as historical. It‘s weird. 3d

I finished One Word Kill and an audible original series on habits (it has a Goodreads listing lol so it gets a mention).
In progress with The Stand about 40% done and a re read of Discworld starting at #1 and about 20% in.

It was one of those weeks where I picked TV and music over reading. It‘s not the books, just a mood I‘m in. This week will be better!

Crazeedi Well done! And the photo looks like an amazing place 4w
Cinfhen Beautiful photo!!! I love that dad took a bail🙌🏻💗I thought Red, White and Royal Blue was super fun but it was a little much at times. I would have liked it to be shorter & maybe less predictable but still very enjoyable 🎧❣️ 4w
Centique @CafeMom I want to read all of them now - I‘ll get to the latest one eventually! 4w
Centique @Cinfhen yes I agree it felt a bit long to me too! 4w

Had a pretty good week, all things considered, and I probably won‘t finish anything else today, so here‘s my #bookreport for the week:
Bailed on Girls Burn Brighter—too dark
Still in progress: The Luminous Dead—starting to feel repetitive. I need SOMETHING to happen!
Finished:
The Three Musketeers (4 ⭐️)
The Windfall (#moremehthanyay)
A History of Magic (3 ⭐️)
The Marriage Clock (3 1/2 ⭐️)

Cinfhen Oh wow!!! You had a great reading week❣️How did your MRI go?? I hope, no migraines this week 🙏🏼 4w
DGRachel @Cinfhen I will get the results of the MRI the week after next, I think, or maybe it‘s the week after that. I‘m sure it will only show more migraine related scarring, so I‘m not really worried, just frustrated about the expense. 🤷🏻‍♀️ But thanks for asking! 😘 4w
TrishB Girls Burn Brighter was dark - I just had to finish though. 4w
DGRachel @TrishB I‘m just not in a mental place where I can handle the events that were happening in the book. Maybe I didn‘t reach a point where I had to know how it ended. I just reached a point where I couldn‘t take reading about any more abuse. 😔 4w
TrishB Yes, sometimes you‘re not in the right place for it and there is no point in continuing. 4w

Pretty much where I wanted to be this week.

- Finished Happy Ever After, gets off to a slowish start but picks up pace very quickly and turns into a very good thriller. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

- Finished my 64-page sample of Donal Ryan‘s next book, due out late summer.

- started A Cheesemonger‘s History of the British Isles and Djinn Patrol.

Also squeezed in an audio, a bit of feel-good chick lit, Tremarnock ⭐️⭐️⭐️ to while away the commute.

I have had an emotional rollercoaster of a week, that luckily ended on a very high note! Because of this (and a general lack of time) I haven‘t had much time to read, but it is what it is. At least, I had a five star read this week, so I really can‘t complain 🙌 #BookReport

TrishB Know the feeling 👍🏻 4w
Cinfhen Glad your week ended well and I‘m sooo happy you loved 4w
squirrelbrain Glad you ended on a high - hope the rest of your week wasn‘t too tough.... 4w

This week I finished only one, but one is a real door stopper, so that‘s about what I expected.

Oh wait, not true! I also read The Princess Diarist on audio 🤣. As you can tell it didn‘t make much of an impression on me.

The American War- 3⭐️
The Princess Diarist- 2.5⭐️

150 pages left in Golden Fool
Just started The Storyteller

#bookreport @Cinfhen

Cinfhen 🙈I bailed on 4w
Soubhiville @Cinfhen if it hadn‘t been short I would have... it wasn‘t at all what I wanted it to be. 4w
Krystle13 The Storyteller is AMAZING. 4w

@Cinfhen
Also not pictured I started the BlackHouse by Peter May and A long petal of the sea by Isabel Allende.
I‘m kinda all over the place and need to fish these before I start anything new!
Between the World and Me was my 4th book for #newyearwhodis and I‘m not usually a nonfiction reader but this was pretty eye opening @Kdgordon88

ljuliel I envy people that can read lots of books at a time . I was never able to accomplish that. I guess I have a one track mind. Finish one, then start another. 4w
Cathythoughts @ljuliel I can‘t go it either ... I can have one print & one audio .... after that I‘d get seriously stressed 😳 4w
Cathythoughts I loved The Colour Purple ❤️ 4w

Tamra Agreed, I don‘t like reading more than 1 print at a time, though with a buddy read going I do because I don‘t want to get too far ahead. 4w
Cinfhen I like variety and sometimes I need a “break” from a current read so it‘s helpful for me to have a few books going at the same time but only a few and usually a different genre @ljuliel @Cathythoughts @Tamra 4w
Jerdencon @ljuliel @Cathythoughts @Tamra I used to be that way and then I joined Litsy! Lol 4w

Here‘s my #BookReport week 14
Lots of good reads / January is proving to be a great month and start to 2020 📚🤓
Audiobooks have definitely upped my reading stats and are slowly becoming my preferred mode of reading🎧

I‘m thinking to focus on Ebooks in February as my #KindleDeals are really piling up
Also plan on reading one #ARC a week to help reduce my #NetGalley titles

Kalalalatja Most of my reading is audiobooks these days, too. It really is a great way to read while being able to do something else 👍 4w
TrishB A great week 👍🏻 mine‘s been pants! (Work 😕) 4w
LeahBergen And you‘ll still be reading American Dirt with all the recent kerfuffle? 😉 4w
See All 15 Comments
Hooked_on_books I really resisted audiobooks for a long time but I dipped my toe in about 3 years ago and have been swimming in the audio deep end ever since. They‘ve expanded my reading tremendously and I love that I can adjust the speed. Plus they keep me happier about whatever else I‘m doing as I want to keep listening. 4w
Cathythoughts Yes , as at @Leagbergen says .. what‘s the story on American Dirt ?! I took it off of my Stacked list ... 4w
RachelO Wow, you‘re really storming through them this week! 4w
Cinfhen It was brought to my attention @LeahBergen @Cathythoughts after I purchased my audiobook/ apparently there is a lot of criticism that the author is intentionally misrepresenting herself and the narrative of the LatinoX community perpetuating stereotypes and diminishing & marginalizing others. I‘m still going to read but will now do so with a different mindset. 4w
Cathythoughts Ok 👍🏻. Great week ! Look forward to your thoughts on What I Loved too ❤️ 4w
Cinfhen I‘m so grateful to the Litsy community for opening my eyes to the benefit of audiobooks @Kalalalatja @Hooked_on_books It does free up your time but still satisfy your need for books 💙🎧I can‘t imagine not having that daily option 4w
Cinfhen Have fun today @TrishB expecting a photo or two ❤️ 4w
TrishB On my way 😁 will try and remember photos! 4w
4thhouseontheleft Wow! I also owe a debt of gratitude to Litsy for kindling my newfound love of 🎧 📖! And now I need to look up what‘s going on with American Dirt. 🤔 4w
TrishB As always I took no photos!! @Oryx and @squirrelbrain have posted some 😘 4w
Cinfhen I HATE photo taking so I totally get it @TrishB I‘ll go and look @squirrelbrain and @Oryx feed 😍 4w
Centique Good lord Cindy - keep this up and you‘ll read 300 plus books this year! 🤩🤩💕 (edited) 4w

Great reading week! I am now 9 of 10 for #JumpStart2020 and am almost done with the two in progress.
5 books read for my #BookReport the favorite being Verity by Colleen Hoover (read two by her, so much soul crushing but soo good)
2 books in progress, enjoying both.
4 more on the docket for this week! For #WeeklyForecast

#BookReport

- Read 15 books this week (4 out of 9 forecasted; 2 ebooks, the rest on audio; within a solid 3-4.5 ⭐️ range; Romanov is the favorite)
- 📖 Mariana, one of my #LMPBC books for the month and I‘m enjoying it so far
- 🎧 A Modest Independence: ❤️ books by Mimi Matthews and this one is no exception
- 📱Serving Up Love: a fun historical-romance novella collection featuring Harvey House girls

Bookzombie What an awesome week! 1mo
Cinfhen Amazing!!! How‘s your retention?? I find the more I read the more I don‘t remember 😝although I‘m probably 30 years older than you are 🤣😂🤣😂 1mo
hes7 @Cinfhen Oh, I have the same problem. 😂 But I‘ve found that as I read more, the more average most books seem, so when I love a book, it tends to stick with me better than others. Plus, I love the feeling of rereading, so it works out. 1mo
Cinfhen That‘s true, the better books do stick with me 😊 1mo

Another good reading week in the books! I‘m slowly but surely finishing up the books off the #tob2020 shortlist and, incidentally off my #BotM backlist. I am not positive what I‘ll pick up next; it‘ll largely depend on my mood this week!

Cinfhen Wow!!! Great week with lots of good books in the mix! How‘s 1mo
thebluestocking @Cinfhen Thanks! I just barely started Optic Nerve. I‘m still acclimating to it. 1mo
Cinfhen Guess I‘ll have to wait and see 😊 1mo

BarbaraBB I too am looking forward to your thoughts on Optic Nerve! How many books have you read from the shortlist so far? 1mo
thebluestocking @BarbaraBB It looks like I‘ve read 12 from the shortlist and I have plans to read four more. I don‘t think I‘m going to go Oval or We Cast a Shadow? 💙 How many have you read? (edited) 1mo
