Book 1 of the Turkish Delight mystery series. Interesting story, but not much of a mystery!

Cozy crime with a Black actress detective, yess!🙌

Dayna is super broke, no acting gig in sight and so the reward money for info on a hit- and- run sounds pretty good.

I just love this series. The characters are so great, the setting of London is so alive, and the balance of detective fiction and magic is delightful. I am increasingly in love with Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, the completely brilliant audiobook narrator. Also, welcome back Leslie! I was thrilled she was back in her element in this one. #DiverseDetectives #AwesomeAudiobooks

So excited to continue this series in audiobook! Kobna Holdbrook-Smith is such a dreamy narrator. Too bad about the ugly ass American covers. At least Peter Grant isn't holding a gun on this one. #AwesomeAudiobooks #DiverseDetectives

God Smites is a cozy crime, a coming-of-age story with a hilarious protagonist and also a book of social commentary on Islamophobia.

Highly recommened!💜📚

Eccentric, self-centered, and arrogant, HE wouldn't like this comparison, but he did remind me of the Indian Sherlock Holmes. The story was fascinating, and although I anticipated the ending, watching his deductions finally be explained was very satisfying. The book is set in India, and the author does use a lot of strange words (there is even a glossary) which might be a challenge for some. Overall, it was enjoyable. #diversedetectives

This storm has gotten me completely discombobulated. 😕😷😴 Stayed home from work again, and decided to start something a little more lighthearted. One of the other titles was what really caught my eye, but I made a rule to read a series from the beginning. #currentlyreading #diversedetectives
