The ending of this book broke my heart. The 2 bonus chapters made me cry. If you read it, you will know. Love this series so much.
And just like that January is over. Body count this month is 15 books, three of which are rereads. My top three books this month were Ring Shout, Alice and The Golden Dynasty. The most surprising amazing read was The Nurses Secret and the funniest was You Suck. And lastly the worst book of the month was The last Werewolf. Completed all my challenges that included my #bookspinbingos w/ one bingo and my #roll100.
I went on a gay romance binge this last week or so (totally shanaqui's fault yup yup). I then realized I could cram the entire Hexworld universe series of full books onto the #FRC2023 . The only one I left out is Hexslayer, which I'm reserving for the URC “Book with an amputee“ prompt, but if I happen on another one for that, it's absolutely going on here for the mystery prompt. Have I wasted all the low-hanging fruit? Yes. Was it funny? Also YES.
Admittedly, I‘m not much of a fantasy girl, but I really enjoyed this! It kept my interest throughout and the world building was great. I really liked both of the MCs too!
#pop23 - book with mystical creatures
"Men want power because it makes them feel good. Women want power because it lets us do things."
This was excellent!! Great story, great characters. I'm feeling lucky to have come across it. I put it off because I didn't like the cover at all, but its not an accurate representation of all the goodness in this first of a series. Thankful (once again) for a great recommendation from a booktok Facebook group.
“What do you plan to do with her,” John sighs, gesturing towards his sister.
“What I always planned to do with her,” I seethe. “Use her. Break her. Take what I want from her. The only way I know how.”
