Persephone's relationship with Hades has gone public and the resulting media storm disrupts her normal life and threatens to expose her as the Goddess of Spring. Hades, God of the Dead, is burdened by a hellish past that everyone's eager to expose in an effort to warn Persephone away. Things only get worse when a horrible tragedy leaves Persephone's heart in ruin and Hades refusing to help. Desperate, she takes matters into her own hands, striking bargains with severe consequences. Faced with a side of Hades she never knew and crushing loss, Persephone wonders if she can truly become Hades' queen.

I had a bit of a hard time getting through this second book. Where I loved Persephone in the first part, here she was really getting on my nerves most of the time. The mistakes she made, the anger she had towards Hades and other things as well, it annoyed me so much that I almost didn‘t finish… but I did, I want to know the end!! Loved the ending of this book and hoping the third book will show a more positive and badass Goddess!!

I know I stated I didn‘t know if I would continue this series. I kind of wish I hadn‘t.
Persephone and Hades modern retelling. There was maybe 30% story and 70% Persephone and Hades having sex. They argue, one gets mad and misunderstands the other so the other one does something and then they finally talk for 2 seconds and have “hot” sex. Every scene was the same, get more creative that is the base of your book.
1.5 ⭐️s worse than the first book

CoverToCoverGirl Yikes! Bummer, some authors rely on the spicy side of things way too much. 13mo
OrangeMooseReads @CoverToCoverGirl I don‘t mind some spicy. This could be a really good story and series if they cut so much of this out and developed the characters a little more. 13mo

The ending of this book broke my heart. The 2 bonus chapters made me cry. If you read it, you will know. Love this series so much.

10/10

Second book in the series. I read this book in less than 2 1/2 hours, couldn't put it down! Hades, Persephone and the rest are immediately interesting and draw you into the story. Easily readable as part of the series or a stand alone book

While I think I liked the first book more, I loved this. Persephone and Hades are together, learning more about one another. There's still a lot of misunderstandings, but I love them together anyway. When disaster strikes, bonds get tested. It doesn't help that her life in the upper world is in shambles, or that pieces of Hades'past are reemerging. Can their live survive?
This one brought all the feels. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Ugh, I did not like this as much.

Seph is learning her powers &her love for Hades is growing, but she still has doubts &her powers are out of sync.
Seph‘s friend suffers a serious accident, &someone from Hades past returns.
&the miscommunication trope takes over the book 🙄

“Let me explain” *doesnt explain*
Apology, sex, apology, sex

I appreciate that the author added in little touches &side plots from lore. The main story overly meanders.

So Persephone‘s immaturity sort of grated me in the beginning. Her quickness to jump to conclusions and lack of communication was annoying. However when you remember she is a young adult it‘s part of her current spot in life. Her growth into her own person as well as her relationship with Hades was lovely to see.

While I don't mind spice in my stories, I am not as much of the fan of constant spice with little plot revelance. I also felt like there wasn't as much happening with the plot as book one. I will give the 3rd book a try, but I wasn't as into this one.

Though there is quite a bit of action, the author fails to generate any real suspense. The pacing just seemed a bit off to me and I had trouble staying engaged. I enjoyed it enough to continue with the series, however.

Bk.2/3 in Hades x Persephone retelling. There‘s some character growth but not really…Persephone is a bonehead who rushes headlong into stupid situations in both books & jumping to conclusions & major insecurities are like her staples but then when she faces the consequences or has an argument with Hades (who‘s king of withholding info) she *kinda* gets it? The words say she gets it but it doesn‘t FEEL like she gets it sometimes. ⬇️⬇️⬇️

The_Literary_Jedi She‘s a young woman who has just graduated college and been forcibly sheltered by her mother, so I get she doesn‘t have a lot of experience but some of her decisions are aggravating. 🌶🌶 for sex scenes, they‘re good but not like melt your loincloth hot. I still really am enjoying this story so 📚📚📚 overall. (edited) 3y

4/5 for this fantasy romance! While this one was not as good as the first one I still loved it! Persephone is a lovely flawed character. The story was a bit sad but had a good ending. I can‘t wait to read the next one.

Book 2 in this series. I love Hades and Persephone. She‘s a bit trying at times but still likable. Had to have Kleenex handy a time or two. I‘m looking forward to book 3 in the series.

Book #33 - A sequel ripe with constant drama. Just when you think things are settled, something else happens out of nowhere. Persephone was a bit frustrating but she had good character growth in the end. I don‘t know how she wasn‘t fired from her job about a million times - maybe due to her relationship with Hades. I‘m hoping the third book has less relationship drama and more of a united front.
