We are starting a book club at work and my coworker who is organizing asked me to come up with some suggestions of books to read. I don‘t want to pick books I‘ve read already since I‘m participating but now I‘m stressing out about what to pick. Any book I should add or skip? The only one I‘ve read is Homegoing. Our first pick is going to be Becoming by Michelle Obama.

Read Flowers for Algernon for the first time and did a #reread of Speed of Dark.

Two moving books about how science and technology, while trying to improve a person‘s life, can change the very essence of who a person is. The takeaway seems to be that we should love and tolerate each other more, and try to change each other less.

I really didn‘t like this book at all. I read it because it had been chosen as the next book for discussion in the Justice League Book Club at the Ministry of Justice. I think that the use was probably very clever but I found the writing style exceptionally irritating, and was incapable of summoning any interest at all in the narrator. #flowersforalgernon #danielkeyes #sciencefiction #mindgames
