I often have a hard time when books have unreliable narrators, but Anna is so engrossing and although at times you aren‘t sure if you can trust her as the reader, I was always on her side. Total #gutsyheroine, Anna goes above and beyond to protect people she cares for, despite her personal struggles.
pickI finished the audiobook of The Baker's Secret by Stephen P. Kiernan on my morning commute. Talk about a #gutsyheroine ! The protagonist, Emmanuelle is a baker in a small French village during WW2, and the story follows her trying to keep her fellow villagers fed and alive during the German occupation of her town. I thought this book was beautifully written with strong characters and a powerful message. #bookrecommendations #gutsyheroines
