This is a popular pick today, but I think it's the most frustrated I've been with a book.

ferskner YES THE WHOLE SERIES!!!! I had to read all of them really fast for a book club, and I'm still mad that I'll never get that time back. 8y
jpmcwisemorgan I read the first one and watched the first movie and went nope, I'm out. My brother liked them but I just couldn't get into them. I read a lot of post apocalyptic books around that time so that's probably part of it. 8y
thec0zy @jpmcwisemorgan that was the exact reaction I had too! Also, the movie soundtrack had sooo much Ellie Goulding in it. By the fourth song, it was just funny. 8y

Odd-Job-Librarian I liked the first book and I thought the movie was pretty faithful to it but I lost interest during Insurgent and never bother with Allegiant. 8y
SiriGuruDevSingh I'm boycotting Veronica Roth until the end of time! 8y
SecretLivesOfFictionLovers I have had Allegiant for sooo long but have yet to read it. Probably because my sister has told me what happens in it and I am sooo not happy about it! Looooved Divergent and Insurgent though. 8y
8little_paws Oh hell yes. This series tanked so epically. It started out seeming like this was going to be an interesting take on social classes and just completely fell apart because I don't think she's smart enough to handle that level of material. 8y
EmilyAnne I'm still mad about the time I wasted on this book 😡 it seemed like she didn't know where to go with the series and wrote the last book in a week and a half. 8y
TheNextBook Ok so I read all three of these because they were such quick reads but I absolutely HATED Tris the entire time. I never liked her as a character and I kept looking for redeeming qualities to no avail. I was way more worried about Four. The twist though in this one really pissed me off. What was she thinking?! 8y
OrangeMooseReads I didn't have a problem with this series. It wasn't the best and the characters weren't particularly deep. There were some forced events and elements. It was decent and readable though. 8y
PrincessLibrarian 100% agree. 8y
annahenke I liked the first two books well enough. I thought those two were enjoyable. I'm willing to try Roth again. My problem is with Tris sacrificing herself even though the whole thing was about not having to die to be a hero. 8y
Crowlows I always get offended when an English major writes about science in their novels. The big reveal in Allegiant straight up pissed me off. Right what you know, not what you think happens to sound really cool. 8y
Olivetoread I hate how the movie is not like the book. Tris should die people!!💀It's not right to make the changes for their own causes!☹️Hollywood needs to read more thoroughly in the books, not their own playwrights! READ PEOPLE!!! 8y
tianatable I didn't even bother reading this one. I stoped after insurgent bc I felt like Veronica Roth's religion came through too heavily for my taste. But that's just me. I didn't even like Tris, and her relationship with her family irked me to the fullest extent 8y
Meghanka @8little_paws I agree. The first novel was promising, I thought since the book is from the perspective of a novice just being inducted into a new system the rushed sketches were pretty well thought out but the series tanked because Roth couldn't handle the material she had built up. 8y
8little_paws @Meghanka her and her husband are opening a bar like two miles from my place. I'm not going 😃 8y
