This novella is saccharinely sweet, and yet it was an enjoyable read. The 'mystery' is totally predictable, but the Christmas setting was fun. There were multiple subtle references to the O Henry tale of “The Gift of the Magi“, which added to the lessons about the true meaning of Christmas. This short story works, because it is short. Enjoy it with a cup of cocoa next Christmas. 3.5/5
A delightful mystery, one that builds between the past and present to come to a rocking conclusion. I admit I saw the twists coming, but the way Prose tells a story is engaging enough that it didn‘t really matter. Molly continues to see things that others don‘t, and to capture the world in a unique way. Some of her insights are probably the best kernels in these books. A very enjoyable series, and one I‘ll continue on with.
I quite like a bit of romance between my more literary or mystery picks but this book…urgh! The misunderstanding which could have been sorted out with one conversation trope is strong in this one! And for my that is not a good thing. And whatever you do don‘t listen to it, the narrators, especially the male one, were terrible. I don‘t often pan but this definitely was one!
Very cute but I predicted what was going to happen in chapter one.
However, it was an absolute joy to be back with Molly.
A nice addition to Molly‘s story as she navigates her relationship with Juan Manuel and her job at the Regency Grand Hotel. 3 🌟

It has to be said, Sophie Kinsella is one of my favourite authors of all time when I need a palate Sophie writes characters that you instantly bond with and form a genuine affection for, which is truly a gift to be able to do in every book she writes. I loved the concept of people struggling with burnout going to their favourite childhood happy places to seek solace- a delightful read ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Honestly, now that we know and love Molly and her entourage so well, I thought this novella was a fun way to add a little holiday detail to her story. It was adorable and just right for the season. Congrats to Molly and Juan Michael.
