So I really liked 2 of hers so far: Highly Suspicious & Unfairly Cute AND Fake Boyfriend Fiasco, plotwise this was pretty much a combination of the 2 (the tropes and child of divorce trauma of HS&UC mixed with the 🌶️ and humor of FBF) but the time jumps really killed the momentum &weren‘t needed, it just wasn‘t my favorite.

Catching up on reviews, I was having a February month, just feeling the need for cheesey romance. This was fine, lots of reliance on miscommunication, lack of communication. The characters are realistic and nice though. It was fine.

I lost track of how many times I LOLd and forced my roommate to let me tell her what was so funny! Sweet and to the point, this is the opposite of the misunderstanding-that-could've-been-avoied-with-a-simple-conversation trope, and it still manages all of the tension! Plus, there are kittens! You should absolutely read this for the holidays!

And here some other short holiday read to bring you some cheer and maybe help you get that Goodreads goal!

#SummerEndReadathon

Read this over Labor Day weekend. I did not love it. I‘m giving it a “pick” because I‘m not a romance reader, so it seems unfair to judge it too harshly. This started out promising and I really liked both the main characters, but too much of the story was taken up with their insecurities. They‘re supposed to be 30 but they act like teenagers. “Does he really like me, or are we just having a lot of sex for some other reason?”

CSeydel It‘s too bad because there were meaty aspects to the plot - job stresses and family issues - which could have been given more attention, but the story dragged as they both tried to figure out whether they were “in a relationship” without ever coming out and telling the other one their feelings. “I‘ll just get hurt because he doesn‘t like me the way I like him and I couldn‘t bear that” - argh! Grow up! 7mo
KT1432 I tried to read this one a while ago but I couldn‘t get into the writing at all. ☹️ 7mo

⭐️⭐️💫
I think I just need to stop trying Hibbert‘s books pre-Brown sisters, they are just not as polished & (basically) perfect as her newer works.
I honestly forgot I was reading this one for most of this week, so that probably says it all.

2. My favorite dessert is Pineapple Upside Down Chee at Cheesecake Factory.
