The Blind Date | Delaney Diamond

I spotted this #BlindDateWithABook while in Frankenmuth, MI, today. The tag intrigued me with the shipwreck; I‘m all about the nautical things. Sadly I didn‘t purchase it. But, I do take chances on blind dates.

Have you ever purchased a blind date with a book?

mcipher I have but I‘m usually disappointed 😂 3d

CrowCAH @mcipher I‘ve done several. But there‘s been only one where I‘ve actually read the book. The others are sitting on the shelf waiting… 3d
Aims42 My Mom bought one and she attempted it but couldn‘t finish it. I‘ve had similar experiences so I pass 😆 3d
CrowCAH @Aims42 totally understandable. We‘ll see if that‘s how it goes with the couple I have on the TBR. 3d
Aims42 @CrowCAH I hope they‘re all picks and no whammies!! 🤞🤞🤞 3d

Wrapped Up in You | Talia Hibbert

This was a cute friends-to-lovers Christmas romance. Will and Abbie have both been harboring feelings for the other for years but finally Will is going to do something about it. I liked both characters but wished they were more honest from the start, it was a little frustrating watching them both hide their feelings, worrying they would scare the other one off. I loved the quirky grandma and her cats 🐈

I usually love a friend to lovers books, but I got a little frustrated with the dynamic between Jasmine and Rahul and how long it took in their friendship before they really communicated.

This book can be used in the classroom to teach about civil rights, equality, and empathy, linking historical events to themes of fairness and kindness. It could prompt discussions about social justice, family diversity, and how laws shape lives, encouraging students to reflect on their own values and communities.

The Case for Loving (2015) is a picture book in the biography and history genre that won the Jane Addams Children's Book Award. This story tells the true tale of Richard and Mildred Loving, a couple who fought against laws prohibiting interracial marriage, eventually leading to the landmark 1967 Supreme Court decision that made such laws unconstitutional.

I love a Talia Hibbert romance, and while this one got a little more intense than some of her stories, it was still a lovely ride. Longtime friends wind up rooming together after Jasmine's apartment is flooded, but her aversion to romantic entanglement complicates the growing chemistry between them.

5feet.of.fury Have you read Fake Boyfriend Fiasco? That was my personal favorite of hers! 8mo
rachelsbrittain @5feet.of.fury I haven't! I'll have to check it out 8mo
